Join us tomorrow as Fortress sings in message!
The original group Fortress began its ministry in 1986, singing four part harmony around the piano. In 1988, it recorded its first album entitled, “Praise, Prayer and Patience,” and until 1990, sang with tracks from their album. In 2000, the group recorded its second album entitled, “Songs My Mama Taught Me,” and in 2002, recorded its third album, “Legacy,” which was a compilation of songs written by three of the groups members. In 2013, Fortress recorded its fourth album, “The Old White Church”.
The group is comprised of lead vocalist and keyboard player, Ken Hosford; alto vocalist
Georgia Anne Hosford; tenor vocalist Orville Ebby; and, bass vocalist Russell Hosford. The vocal ensemble is accompanied by rhythm guitarist Earnie Sumner; bass guitarist Isaac Hosford; and drummer Kent Hosford.
The group’s popularity stems from its musical ministry and the personal testimonies of its members. Fortress, officially recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 C(3)
organization, operates entirely off love offerings and donations it receives from individuals and churches that wish to help promote the ministry. All proceeds that are collected go directly toward the expense of maintaining equipment, vehicle upkeep, insurance, and the advancement of the ministry. No one in the group receives any stipend for their participation.
Fortress has shared its ministry in churches and prisons throughout Florida, Alabama,
Georgia, Louisiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi and Virginia over the past several years through revival services, concerts and personal testimonies of each of the group’s members.
Fortress is thankful to be called into this ministry, and strives to lift up Jesus Christ in all things.
