We are one day away from Opening Night! We have spent countless hours in practice, set building, costume making, band practice, meals made and more to get to this moment. And it is done all for the sake of the Gospel to be boldly proclaimed in a lost and dying world.
We were reminded last night of Romans 12:1--"Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship."
This is the Body of Christ, the church, in action. This moment is our sacrifice of worship we offer up to a Holy God. This moment is not for our glory, but HIS! For our hope does not lie in words, songs, and action. Our hope is found in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
"Empowered by the spirit, they began to share with every nation, tribe, and tongue the good news that Jesus had come. He had come to pay the death penalty for sin that mankind owed… and he had done it once and for all for those who would believe. The wrath of God toward sinners could be avoided by faith and repentance. Men and women from all walks of life began to respond to the good news, placing their faith in the finished work of Christ, and the church began to grow into a huge body of believers… born again into a living and eternal hope."
