Marriage is one of the most misunderstood topics in the Bible, and Ephesians 5:22–33 is one of the most debated passages in all of Scripture.

In this verse-by-verse Bible study, Cody and Mindy Spencer walk through Paul's teaching on husbands, wives, submission, sacrificial love, and the mystery of marriage. Rather than focusing on cultural opinions or personal preferences, we examine what God's design for marriage actually looks like.

Paul reveals that marriage is more than a relationship between a husband and wife. It is a living picture of Christ and His Church. Husbands are called to love sacrificially, lead spiritually, and lay down their lives for their wives. Wives are called to honor, respect, and support their husbands as partners in God's design.

Whether you are married, engaged, dating, or preparing for the future, this passage provides practical wisdom and a powerful vision for biblical relationships.

In this study we discuss:

Cody and Mindy Spencer serve as the lead pastors of His Tabernacle Family Church, a growing, multi campus church in upstate New York. Their heart is to see people follow Jesus, become like Him, and do what He would do through biblical teaching and the power of the Holy Spirit. They are also launching Uproar Conference, a movement focused on gathering youth and young adults for powerful encounters with God, bold preaching, and raising up a generation to live fully surrendered to Jesus.
