GOING BACK FOR SECONDS

Get Ready for Reconnect 2!

Our first event, on Tuesday, March 31, brought a hearty attendance and spirited time of exploring scholarly topics from a practical perspective: the Dead Sea Scrolls and Second Temple Judaism.

Our second event, coming on Tuesday, June 23, brings us back to Tabernacle Baptist, Ithaca, with their pastor, Elijah Beltz, sharing on 2 key topics:

THE USE OF THE OLD TESTAMENT IN THE NEW TESTAMENT: We will unpack key questions related to the NT authors quoting the OT: Do the NT authors exegete the OT accurately? Do they use rabbinical exegetical practices? Do they change the meaning of the text? And can we use their same methods when teaching the OT?

MODERN HERMENEUTICAL PROBLEMS: We will explore some of the modern challenges to the historical grammatical means of interpretation—historical criticism, various reader-response theories, and Theological Interpretation of Scripture. How can understanding the landscape of hermeneutical ideas sharpen our Bible teaching?

Camp ReCharge happens this Friday-Saturday for middle & high school students. Same theme as the March ReCharge events but with a country-western twist. Giddy-up!
