For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. When a church gathers, our priorities are on full display by what we focus on. The early church devoted themselves to the apostles teaching which led them to praise and worship. This morning we'll discover how our deepest delight comes from responding to God's works and nature.

This past Sunday we introduced a new song, “O Church Arise” by Keith & Kristyn Getty. This hymn helps us remember who we are as the church and calls us to stand together in Christ as we live out and proclaim the gospel.

Take some time this week to listen to it and become familiar with it as we continue learning this great hymn together. I’m looking forward to singing it again with you this Sunday!

Teach us to pray. In the Christian life we often learn about personal prayer. Our individual Christian walk will lack power if we lack prayer. Our church will also lack power if we avoid praying together. The early church prayed together and devoted themselves to doing so. If we want to be a church that makes an eternal difference, we must be devoted to God through prayer.

If you've been looking for a time to gather with us, it's a great time to come and invite your friends!

We're excited to begin our next series this Sunday. We'll be considering how the early church devoted themselves to God. This devotion to God showed itself in six expressions. We'll begin by meditating on how to devote ourselves to prayer in Acts 4:23-31.

"Great is thy Faithfulness" is a wonderful hymn reminding us of God's trustworthiness. However, knowing that God keeps every promise is a fragrance of death to those perishing but a fragrance of life to those who are being saved. The final declaration of the Lord through Amos captures the heights of God's commitment to rescuing the world from sin and death.

Church family, please pray for Andy and Pat Murphy and their family as they grieve the loss of Andy's mother, Eva. Please find the funeral arrangements below at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Independence, MS.

Eva was a sweet saint who trusted in the Lord Jesus, and we know that "precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints" (Ps 116:15).
