IN LOVING MEMORY
Ledley Lee Hughes, born on October 16, 1949, in Princeton, Kentucky, passed away on August 20, 2026, at the Caldwell County Medical Center in Princeton, Kentucky.
Ledley was a gentle soul whose life was marked by quiet strength and a caring spirit. She was a devoted member of Shepherd Street Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as financial secretary and president of the missionary. Her commitment to her church family reflected the same sincerity and dedication she carried throughout her life.
She retired after many years of service as a sales cashier for Food Giant, where she was known for her dependable work ethic and pleasant manner. Ledley took pride in doing her work well and in treating others with respect and warmth. Those who knew her will remember her as someone who brought calm, grace, and encouragement to the lives of others.
In her personal time, Ledley enjoyed working crossword puzzles, sewing, and singing in the choir. These simple pleasures brought her joy and reflected her thoughtful and creative nature. Her love of music and her faithful participation in church life were important parts of who she was and will be remembered fondly by all who shared those moments with her.
She is survived by her sons, Byron Boyd of Princeton, Kentucky, and Quentin Boyd and his wife, Heidi, of Princeton, Kentucky. She is also survived by her brothers, Arthur Lee and his wife, Glenda, of Louisville, Kentucky, Walter Lee of Florida and stepsister Stacey (Donnie) Duncan Evansville' In. Her memory will live on through her grandchildren, Aisha Boyd, Emily Boyd, Kendall Boyd, Akili (Macey) Boyd, De Boyd, Michael Copeland, and Derrin Boyd, as well as her great-grandchildren, Koby, Jaden, Kayson, Queenay and Akira. Close family friend Barbara Poulnot.
Ledley was preceded in death by her son Tony Sutherland, her first husband, Felix Boyd, her second husband, Burnace Hughes, her father, James E. Lee, her mother, Lillian Mae Garret Lee, and her brother, James G. Lee. Though she experienced loss in her lifetime, she remained steadfast in faith and continued to be a source of comfort and love to those around her.
Her life was a blessing to her family, her church, and her community. Ledley Lee Hughes will be remembered for her gentle nature, her faithful service, and the love she shared so freely. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will remain a treasured part of the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Morgan's Funeral Home
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Morgan's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
