Today we had our retreat with the Nile Church in Zacatecoluca. It was a beautiful time where we all had breakfast together. Afterward, we had a time of meditation on the Word, focusing on "The Mission of the Church." Then we spent time together playing soccer, swimming, and having quality conversations. At 1:00 p.m., Pastor Charlie spoke to us about "Who is Jesus?" The retreat ended at 4:00 p.m., with everyone joyful and grateful for the wonderful time with God and our brothers and sisters.

Due to the Switchgear project timeline, we expect the building to be without electricity this Sunday, Aug 9. As such, we'll have ONE combined worship service this Sunday under the tent at 10:00 a.m. Things to note:

• No GLORYkids or childcare (infants–PreK)
• Bring a lawn chair and/or blanket if you're able in case we need overflow seating
• No coffee will be served
• Restrooms will be open with temporary lighting

Today was a wonderful time as we gathered with Pastor Rene's team (pastor of the First Spanish Baptist Church of Minneapolis). His team consisted of 15 members, and together with pastors from local churches, we had a beautiful time of fellowship. It was edifying for the pastors to have a time of reflection on our ministries and to encourage one another in the Lord to continue fighting the good fight. Our youth connected and played with the local youth and those from Minnesota, and Pastor Charlie and Kim had an excellent time with Crystal (Pastor Rene's wife) and a good conversation with Drew, the pastor from Columbia Heights.

This is the special participation of the two girls that faithfully come to church and there wearing the VBS shirts donated from Minnesota.
