The Disciples of Christ are an American Protestant Church founded in America in 1832. First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Hopewell was orginally organized in 1916 and reorganized in 1922. We celebrate The Lord's Supper/Communion every Sunday. Honoring and obeying our Lord's command, "While they were eating, Jesus took the bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to His disciples, say

ing,'Take and eat; this is my body.' Then He took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying,'Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.'" Matthew 26:26-28. Our Baptism is by immersion. We accept new members by membership transfers and prior baptisms. "I baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit." Mark 1:8
