Scouting is Fun!

The Crew 1313 (our Scouting America Venturing, BSA Crew) went on a fun trip on Sunday to see the fireworks in Hot Springs! Our Venturing crew fundraises for everything they do, they learn about leadership (the program is youth led), service (they do service projects monthly), new skills & trades, and they get to have fun together while doing them.

Often times you see pictures of them doing service, but here are a few of them having fun. If you want to know more about our Venturing BSA Crew 1313, just check our our webpage, or drop on by!

We have received zero first aid kits this month.

Please join us in praying, that some kind souls would hear this call for help and supply us with small first aid kits, for the consumers and sojourners who come visit us at The Hope ConneXion Outreach Center who are in need.

Join us in blessing those who are currently living in the margins.

Please bring kits to the HCOC

Our main pantry is running low...

We're not out of food, we just will be out soon. We just want to offer the opportunity to our neighbors to help us help other people who might just need a hand up at the end of the month. Sometimes the money just doesn't last.

If you could be such a blessing to bring a few items to help bolster the pantry and the food that we put out in our blessing boxes we would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for being a blessing,
The Hope ConneXion Staff

We are proud to see our young friend and congregant, Logan, graduate today., from Blevins high school. We pray blessings on his life that he may make wise decisions and live to the full potential on which God made him.

Logan has served both as an executive board member of the church and outreach and as a leader in our venturing crew 1313. May God be glorified by his actions.

This internship is designed for young adults who desire to deepen their understanding of mission through real-life experience, active participation, and intentional reflection. Rather than a classroom-based program, this is a relational and service-oriented journey, where growth happens through presence, responsibility, and engagement. Are you the one we are looking for?

Why donate food?

Donating food reduces food insecurity, helps the environment, and supports communities by redirecting nutritious, surplus food to those in need rather than landfills. It helps families manage food costs, supports local food banks, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions caused by waste, as 1 in 8 Americans are food insecure while 40% of food is wasted.

Food insecurity in Hope, Arkansas, is severe, reflecting a statewide crisis where roughly 1 in 3 children and 1 in 5 elderly individuals in Hempstead County need assistance. Local resources, including Blessin' Boxes, food pantries, and the Hope ConneXion, provide emergency, 24/7 food access to address rising.

Key Reasons to Donate Food?
Alleviate Hunger:
Food insecurity impacts over 40 million people in the U.S., including 13 million children. Donations provide essential nutrition to families facing tough times, helping them bridge the gap between paychecks.
Reduce Environmental Impact:
Food waste is the #1 contributor to U.S. landfills. Donating diverts waste from landfills, reducing the methane emissions generated by rotting food.
Conserve Resources:
Producing food consumes massive amounts of resources (water, fertilizer, land). When food is wasted, these resources are lost too.
Support Local Communities:
Food donations help local food banks, pantries, and shelters keep their shelves stocked to serve the community, especially when facing rising demand and costs.
Support Food Rescue:
Donations of prepared or excess food from businesses (restaurants, grocery stores) prevent high-quality food from being wasted.

What to Donate?
Non-perishables: Canned goods, dry goods, peanut butter, and pasta. Check out our website for other ideas... https://www.hopeconnexion.org/uploads/1/1/4/5/114577139/food-pantry-stuffl_orig.jpg

Note on Monetary Donations:
While food drives are essential, many food banks can turn a $10 donation into up to 40 meals due to their purchasing power and retail partnerships, often making monetary donations more impactful than individual food items...
