GENERATIONAL CURSES

“She has her mother’s eyes.” “He looks just like his father.” We have all seen how the physical characteristics of parents pass on to their children. You may have a big nose from your dad or your mother’s smile. You might be short or tall, light-skinned or dark based on the physical traits of your ancestors, but one thing is sure: much of who you are physically is influenced by heredity. Heredity also has an influence on your talents, abilities, traits, and even how you think and behave. We have all heard the phrase, “Like father, like son.” But did you know that it is just as true in the spiritual realm as it is in the natural?

Wildfire students, with us stepping into the New Year it is important to remember that you are to put off your old self and put on your new self. Sin no longer controls you. When we allow God to renew the spirit of our minds and put on the new person that Christ has made you, then you can begin to live that life. God made you with the same characteristics that He has. God is loving, compassionate, gracious, full of mercy and joyful.The old sinful you is no longer who you are today. You are a new person in Christ. As this New Year starts, some of you need that reminder. You know it, but maybe you have found yourself in between your faith and living like the rest of the world. For those of you who don’t know what it means to have a relationship with Christ, this is the perfect time to start off fresh and live for God. God doesn’t desire for you to make resolutions about the things you can change about yourself or others this upcoming year. God’s desire is that you would live for Him, put on your new self, and live a life that can make a difference in the world around you. Happy New Years!!! Run into this year with your funnels open because God is about to bless you beyond anything you could ever comprehend.

Hello friends and family! Don't forget we will be working the ice skating rink this Thursday from 5-9. We will have bowls of chili or soup with all the fixings including cornbread, deserts, and hot chocolate. Bowls will be $5 a piece or if you want to make it a meal with a bowl of your choice, a desert, and a hot cup of hot chocolate it will be $8. Please come out and enjoy a great time with great food.

Happy Thursday wildfire family! Remember this Sunday night is the youth Christmas party. Make sure to bring all your gifts for the gift exchange and if anyone is having trouble getting their gift just message Brother Cody so we can help take care of that for you. Also don't forget today is Luke chapter 8. What has been your favorite verse through Chapter 8? Mine is when they are traveling amongst all these crowds of people and this women who had suffered bleeding most of her life had moved herself close enough just to touch Jesus's garment because she knew if she could just touch his garment through her faith she would be healed and she was. That kind of faith is what we all need. And I love how Jesus asked his disciples " Someone touched me, who was it?" Because the crowd was so big they had no idea and said it could of been anyone. But Jesus replied, “Yes, but I felt power surge through me. Someone touched me to be healed, and they received their healing.” WOW!! Imagine the freedom in letting go of all fear and just having faith that He is and has handled it. Have a blessed Thursday Wildfire and we can't wait to see you Sunday!

Wildfire Youth please read one chapter of Luke a night before you go to bed. We will be doing a quick recap when we meet on Sunday nights! This is to be done separately from your 30 minutes in the morning. The goal is to start your morning off on the right track spending 30 minutes with God and end your day by setting your mind on Jesus by doing 1 chapter of Luke a night!
