Good morning church,
Here are your announcements from Sunday, 8/23/26.
Our next set of EQUIP classes will begin on September 13th. You can now register by texting the word EQUIP to 910-424-1298. We will be offering Journey Into God's Word, Essential Truths for Christian Living and Abiding in God's Word. You can see descriptions of each class on our website. All classes will be offered on Sundays at 11 o'clock.
The Children's Ministry has lots of activities coming up. Promotion Splashoff is coming up this Saturday, August 29th, from 10:30-1:30. This is a family event and everyone is welcome. There will be water slides, lunch, games and more. Text SPLASH to sign up. This will lead into Promotion Sunday on September 6th. Finally, Bible presentation Sunday is September 13th. Please text the word BIBLES or contact the church office to sign your child up to receive a Bible.
One of our favorite events of the year is our lake baptism at the home of Pastor Kris on Lake Upchurch. This will be on September 13th immediately following the 11 o'clock service. We will gather for lunch which will immediately be followed by the baptisms. Text LAKE if you plan to come and enjoy lunch and text BAPTISM if you wish to be baptized.
Registration for the Ladies of Grace spring retreat at Camp Caraway is now open. The date is April 23-25 and the cost is $250 with a $50 nonrefundable deposit due at registration. Text the word CAMP to sign up.
Our next Meals for Missions Dinner will be September 2nd from 5:00-6:15. Donations will be accepted at the door or online by texting the word MISSION. The mission team will also be having a pancake breakfast and yard sale on September 19th. You can sign up for a vendor space for only $15. Text the word YARD to sign up for a vendor spot. Space is limited.
The JOY group is gearing back up for their monthly meetings on August 29th. They will be having a cookout as well as playing Bingo. Signup is on the adult-wing bulletin board. Also, the JOY group will be going to Northwood Dinner Theater on October 10th at 11:30 AM. Signup is also located on the adult-wing bulletin board.
The youth will be having a parent mixer/lunch on August 30th immediately following the 11 o'clock service. If you have a student in youth, please make plans to attend and find out the goal and aim of the youth ministry program for the fall. Text MIXER to sign up. All rising 6th graders and their parents are encouraged to attend Surviving Middle School on September 9 @ 6:30 PM in the youth room. The youth ministry will be discussing what youth ministry and life looks like as students move up into 6th grade. Text SURVIVE to sign up.
We will be hosting our annual First Responder's Breakfast on September 12th at 8 AM. If you are a first responder or know of someone who is, please make plans to attend. You can call the church office at (910)-424-1298 for more information or to sign up.
Finally, all men's retreat money is due by September 15th. You can pay on online via the app or the website.
