Life is full of stress and burdens if we let it. Just watching the news can weigh us down. Add to that the burden of sin that we add on to ourselves and it can be difficult to function.

However, there is no need to be burdened. Jesus our Lord has told us in scripture that he will gladly take on our burdens. All we need to do is give them to him.

Today gather all your troubles and burdens. Picture them as a yoke around your neck and lift that yoke up to God. Free yourself by following Christ.

Let us pray:

Lord God, let us realize we can give you our heavy burdens and you will make them light, for you are the way, the truth and the life. Amen

It's great if you are seating in the pews during worship, however what matters is how you apply what you hear in worship in to your daily life.

As they say, "it's not about talking the talk, but walking the walk." Faith is about action and showing others what it means to follow Jesus Christ.

So, be in the pews this Sunday and then put what you hear into action.

Let us pray:

Father, Son and Holy Spirit, let me yearn to be part of worship and let me go and do your work and your will. Amen

Where is your Bible?

Is it on a shelf somewhere? Is it dusty? Can you remember the last time you picked it up?

I hope it is on your endtable or bedstand. Somewhere that is within reach, and that you reach for it often and daily.

The Bible is the only manual we receive on how to live our lives. We need to read it. We need to know it and live our lives by its directions.

Let us pray:

Oh Lord, give us the desire to delve into your Word daily and to search your way and desire for us. AMEN

We all have the knowledge that to be in good physical shape we need to exercise.

The same is true about getting in spiritual shape. We need to do spiritual exercises. Not just for an hour on Sunday, but throughout the week. That means we take time to read God's Word in the Bible. It means we take time to pray and discern God's will for us.

We don’t get physically strong by laying around and we won't get spiritually healthy by ignore God's Word.

Let us pray:

God, your Word should be on our lips and in our hearts. Let us desire to grow stronger spiritually each and every day. Amen.

We all need God!

Without God, the temptations of the world would devour us and destroy us.

Without God, we would have no one to turn to in times of trouble. No one to walk with us through the dark valleys of life.

Without God, there would be no knowledge of an eternal life that is waiting for believers.

Without God, we are nothing.

Let us pray:

Everlasting God, we are grateful that we have you in our lives, for without you we are nothing. Let us turn to you always. AMEN

Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God;

How good are we at being still, at be patient and waiting on God?

Often we would like to tell God what we want, how it should be done and when we want it done. But God is in control! He sees our situation better then we do and knows what we need and when we need it.

Try to be patient and always trust and rely on God.

Let us pray:

Almighty God, may we take time to wait on you and watch your plan for us to be revealed now and forever.AMEN
