In Memoriam - we extend our sincere condolences to the family of Guadalupe Jacuinde Ortega, wife of Eliseo Aguirre Reyes, mother of Daniela Aguirre Jacuinde, Ivan Aguirre Jacuinde, and Cristofer Aguirre Jacuinde, and the grandmother of Jillian Rodriguez. Guadalupe passed away on June 5, 2026.
Visitation will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 10 at noon followed by the funeral Mass at 1pm.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

O Precious Jesus, The gift of your Body and Blood, shared with us, is unfathomable.

Like manna that satiated our hunger, fill us where we lack.

Like the bread given to Elijah in the desert, sustain us.

Parish teens - Join us at Atlanta Life Teen Steubenville Catholic Youth Conference!
This is a 3-day Catholic conference for high school teens to encounter Christ through Eucharistic Adoration, the Sacraments, dynamic sessions, and small group time. It will be produced by Franciscan University of Steubenville and hosted by Life Teen to ignite lifelong discipleship. Our Prince of Peace group will attend 8:30am Mass on July 9 at POP and then travel to Atlanta with stops at Six Flags and the Georgia Aquarium before the conference begins on July 11. The conference finishes on July 12, and the group will return home to Hoover later that day. Cost for the four-day event is $300. Register soon, as spots will fill quickly!

What an AMAZING week at Vacation Bible School! We were blessed to have over 360 kids on campus experiencing the most unforgettable week of the summer at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Every moment was filled with joy, laughter, and excitement as they explored "Rainforest Falls." VBS Director Katherine Madonia and her team of volunteers pulled out all the stops and made it such a memorable week for our parish kids. We appreciate the team's hard work, and if you did, too, please give them a shout-out in the comments. We'd love to hear your child's fave parts of the week!

Happy ordination anniversary to Father John Fallon! June 7, 2026 marks his 57th year of priesthood. Father Fallon graduated from St Patrick's College, Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland, and was ordained on June 7, 1969. Following his ordination, he moved to Alabama as a priest in the Archdiocese of Mobile where he served at St. Leo the Great in Demopolis (and its missions) for two and one-half years and then at St. Mary of the Visitation in Huntsville for one and one-half years. Father’s next assignment was campus ministry at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa for 12 years. After that, he was assigned to Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Tuscaloosa for 13 years and during his tenure, Holy Spirit Catholic High School was completed. In 1998 Father Fallon arrived at Prince of Peace.

Thank you, Father Fallon, for your 57 years of ministry in the Diocese of Birmingham. We are grateful for your stewardship of Prince of Peace Catholic Parish, your philosophy of “all are welcome,” and most importantly for leading us on our journey as disciples and evangelists.

We are offering a special liturgy for those who mourn on July 22, 2026 at 6pm in the church. It's called "Darkness and Light" and will include music, prayers, readings, and a remembrance of our loved ones. Whether your loss is recent or in the past, you are welcome to attend. This special liturgy offers an opportunity for all of us who have lost people dear to us. Many choose to bring photos or other items in remembrance of their departed loved ones to place on tables with candles we provide. All are welcome.
