We are jam-packed with things going on. This Sunday, we start our new Sunday schedule, and it's Promotion Sunday for our Children & Youth! We're bringing back Wednesday night dinner this week too! More on that later!

Parents, our children are advancing with new classrooms and new teachers for Sunday School. Ms. Kristi and Ms. April are so excited to see all our kiddos!

Charlie Brown made an appearance in Traditional Worship today. We wrapped up our two-week God on Broadway series with music from You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and our pastors wore stoles custom-made for the service by Victoria Morris, one of our own RUMC members. We love when the creativity in this church shows up right alongside the message.

A big thank you to everyone who had a hand in God on Broadway, including our musicians and Minister of Music Daniel deShazo, who brought this series to life!

What if loving people means being willing to see past the surface?

In John 4, Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at a well. On paper, this encounter shouldn't happen. She's a Samaritan. She's a woman. She carries a complicated story. And yet Jesus chooses to sit with her, listen to her, speak honestly with her, and offer her something she never expected: living water.

The story of Jesus and the woman at the well reminds us that people are more than their past, their reputation, their mistakes, or the assumptions we make about them.

In The Lasso Way: A Game of Darts, we explore what it means to treat people with curiosity instead of judgment, to look for the person behind the story, and to create space for genuine connection. Sometimes loving like Jesus means putting down our assumptions and being willing to enter someone else's world.

Jesus didn't avoid difficult people or difficult conversations. He moved toward them—with grace, truth, curiosity, and compassion.

Whether you're navigating relationships at home, work, church, or in your community, this message challenges us to see people differently and love them the way Jesus did.

Because everyone has a story. And sometimes, the greatest act of love is simply taking the time to hear it.

What if the strongest leader in the room was the one willing to serve?

Our culture often defines leadership by power, influence, and recognition. But in one of the most unforgettable moments in Scripture, Jesus turns that idea upside down. On the night before His crucifixion, the King of Kings kneels before His disciples, wraps a towel around His waist, and washes their feet.

In John 13:1–15, Jesus doesn't simply teach humility—He demonstrates it. He shows us that greatness isn't measured by how many people serve us, but by how willing we are to serve others.

In this new series, The Lasso Way, we're exploring timeless biblical principles through themes that remind us of the kind of character that changes homes, workplaces, teams, and communities. It begins with a simple but challenging truth: the best leaders are servants first.

Whether you're leading a family, a business, a classroom, a team, or simply trying to follow Jesus more faithfully, this message will encourage you to embrace humility, choose service over status, and love others the way Christ loves us.

We have exciting things in store for this Sunday that you will NOT want to miss!

In our Modern service, we are kicking off a 5-Week series about everyone's favorite football coach, and no, we don't mean Nick Saban. We're talking about English football - soccer, that is - and we will be looking at the series of Ted Lasso, and how there are some deeply spiritual themes found in the show that speak to all of us from across the pond. So make every effort to be here this Sunday and shoot...who knows? Maybe you, too, can be a part of the Diamond Dogs...

In our Traditional services for the next two weeks, we are doing God on Broadway, and we will be looking at the musicals of Les Misérables and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. These two Sundays will feature some amazing music and messages that will look at the themes found within these two amazing musicals.

VBS 2026 is a wrap, and what a week it was! Our kids explored, laughed, made new friends, and grew in their faith, and we are so proud of every one of them.

A huge thank you to Kristi Rodgers, April Hubbard, and the rest of our VBS Directors for their vision and dedication in making this week come alive. And thank you to every volunteer who showed up and gave their time and energy all week long. You are so appreciated.

One more thing worth celebrating: our kids collected over 4,000 food items for our Backpack Ministry food drive. That's not a small number; that's our children choosing to care for their neighbors. We love this community.

The John Ray Challenge.

John Ray loved Worship! He loved Sundays. Always arrived early.

John put a premium on doing anything possible to be sure he was there on Sunday.

There were times that John was literally in the hospital the week before worship, but would tell me he’d be there. Some of those times, I thought it was wishful thinking. There was a time that he was still in the hospital on a Saturday - still told me he’d be there. I don’t know how he convinced the Doctors to release him, but he did. He was present and early as usual.

With all this in mind, Karen Ray has issued everyone a challenge - the John Ray Challenge. Simply put, she is challenging everyone to show up this Sunday, which would have been John’s Birthday!

This past Sunday, our church family welcomed 12 new members through confirmation, and we couldn't be prouder!

Each of these young people has spent months studying their faith, asking hard questions, and making a courageous decision to claim it as their own. For each of them, this is just the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith, and what a beautiful beginning it is.

We are so grateful for the families who have walked alongside them, the mentors who have poured into them, and the community that continues to grow. Please join us in celebrating these 12 and lifting them up in prayer as they take this next step.
