Every burden must become a prayer burden. Every work for God must be done in close communion with God and obedience to God. The process has not always been easy, nor without its bumps along the way. Through it all God has always been faithful!

We invite you to join us for Heritage Month at Hope!

We are honored to begin this year’s Heritage Month with Pastor Gary Bohman and Bro. Steve Kilpatrick, who have both been an integral part in the founding of our church.

Hope Baptist Church is the fruit of the vision God has given these two men. Pastor Gary Bohman is the pastor of our reproducing church, Gospel Light Baptist Church in Helena, Alabama. The people of Gospel Light have followed Pastor Bohman in starting two churches, one in Bolivia and Hope Baptist in Hoover. They continue with a prayerful vision to plant more churches in the future.

None of this would have been possible without the Lord giving Bro. Steve Kilpatrick a burden for church planting in the state of Alabama and him answering the call. Nearly 24 years ago, Bro. Kilpatrick planted Gospel Light Baptist Church in Helena. Several years later, he started an organization called Independent Baptist Friends of Alabama, a ministry of GLBC with the purpose of reaching our state with the Gospel through church planting.

We are grateful to have these two men open our Heritage month as guest speakers on September 6th. Pastor Bohman will join us for the morning service and Bro. Kilpatrick for the evening service.

We thank God for our heritage and we are asking Him to stir our hearts during these special meetings!

We are grateful for the work God has done, and is doing. As we approach our 2nd Anniversary, we want to share a little of the background on how God led us to plant Hope Baptist Church. In this first video, we share how God prompted our hearts to begin this work.
