Paul doesn't hand the church a second wardrobe. The armor he describes in Ephesians 6 is quoted straight out of Isaiah 59:17, where it isn't on a soldier at all — it's on God Himself. And the verb Paul uses for putting on the armor is the same verb he uses for putting on Christ. This morning we open the armory, put on all six pieces, and come to the Lord's table — because the Christ you put on is the Christ you take in.

Jesus asks a man who lay thirty-eight years at the pool of Bethesda, "Do you want to be made well?" His faith was fixed on the water — but the healing came in the Word and the receiving in the obedience. The pool saves nobody; the name of Jesus saves completely. A message on faith, obedience, keeping your healing, and water baptism.

Water baptism is a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ, symbolizing the death of an individual’s old life and spiritual rebirth into new life through Him. By being immersed into and raised out of the water, believers reflect Christ's death, burial, and resurrection while openly declaring obedience to His commandments.
