A service was held at Koyasan Sanboin Temple to mark the restoration of the statue of Hokumen Daishi on July 1, 2026. Rev. Miyagi from Koboji and Bishop Emeritus Watanabe from Honomu Henjoji attended from Hawaii.
Sanboin's treasure has been carefully restored for the first time in nearly 800 years. The ceremony marked the completion of this significant restoration project, and the disiciples of Sanboin reaffirmed our commitment to preserve this treasured cultural and religious devotion for the future.
高野山塔頭別格本山三寳院では、昨年から行われていた「北面大師」像の800年ぶりの修復作業がこのほど完了し、去る7月1日に修復成満法会を厳修しました。
法会は飛鷹全隆前官導師のもと営まれ、同像の修復完成を寿ぐと共に、これからも長らく継承する事を誓い、法会終了後には参列者が北面大師像尊前において焼香を行いました。
北面大師像は昭和40年に和歌山県指定文化財に指定されており、「北面大師」の名は首を右に振る類例のない姿に由来するとされています。
