The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Armagh, the Most Revd Eamon Martin, was a guest speaker at the Anglican Consultative Council (ACC) meeting in Belfast on Monday.

He and Church of Ireland Archbishop John McDowell have worked closely on a broad range of issues including reconciliation and the need to address sectarianism. In his address, Archbishop Martin talked about daring to hope, a word that was mirrored the theme of the week-long ACC gathering entitled ‘Called to one Hope’.

This summer our Senior Warden, Dr. Randy Furushima will be teaching an online course tracing Christian martyrdom from the early church in Rome to the hidden Christians of Japan.

Participants will examine how suffering became not merely a tragedy to endure, but a profound testimony to Christ and the Church’s deepest hope in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Today was the last day in Assisi, and having paid homage to Saints Francis and Claire, we have returned to Rome. Tomorrow the pilgrims depart for Honolulu. Eastertide blessings to one and all.
