Jesus healed this man who now asked to follow Jesus wherever He went but Jesus said no. Instead, Jesus told him to go home & tell them about Jesus. If you want to do great things for the Kingdom, fantastic! Start at home where people know you; where they can see for themselves the difference Jesus has made in your life. We don’t always need to go overseas to make an impact; sometimes we simply need to ‘go home’.

As we start a new week, ‘prepare your mind’. Prepare your mind that there will be times of frustration, times of being stretched, of needing patience, needing quiet, having laughter & having unexpected things (good & not) arise. When we prepare our minds we are better able to show self-control, grace, gratitude & more. It’s a new week. Do your best to prepare your mind.

“Pain handled in God’s way produces a turning from sin to God which leads to salvation, and there is nothing to regret in that! But pain handled in the world’s way produces only death.”

Notice pain is the starting point. The question is what will your pain produce? Change for the better or decay from regret? There are things done & said that we regret; things we cannot change. What will you do with that pain? Will you learn from it, ask God to forgive it & change from it, or wallow, drown & try to numb it? Pain is the starting point, but don’t let it be your ending - give it to God, He will bring purpose to the pain.

To declare the LORD is MY shepherd is to be confident in knowing you belong to Him & He is watching over you. It’s knowing you are cared for, provided for, protected & directed. It’s knowing you are anointed to meet & equipped to handle the challenges, disappointments, successes & whatever else, because you are not alone. Whatever comes your way today, in Christ, trust that what you truly need, you already have.

One muzzle, one mouth, two motives. First is - we guard what we say so WE don’t sin with words we can’t take back. The second is we muzzle our mouth around people who will turn our words into their gossip. With both you get to decide what you will say, but once it’s out of your mouth, it’s out of your hands - so watch it!

Many are ready for Jesus to return TODAY. But what would that do to those you love that do not know Jesus? Would you be willing to continue living in these days of darkness if it meant your unsaved family or friend saw the Light & came to Christ? What if God’s waiting is His way to reach the one you love & have been praying for? Be patient, stay faithful & trust God AND His timing.

God sees ALL that’s going on. He sees the wicked ones & the ones trying to walk in His ways. He sees the tears, the abuse, the innocence, & the arrogance. He knows every motive (evil & good). He knows what keeps us up at night, the burdens we carry & the love we show. There’s something reassuring in knowing that God sees & knows it all. So on ‘those harder days’ let knowing He knows be enough.

How many of us become tired or discouraged in what we do? Jesus was swarmed by crowds, rejected, mocked, unjustly treated & yet He did not become discouraged. He continued on till he brought justice; till He established salvation for you & me. Jesus knew His purpose, He expected opposition, & He knew He would prevail. We all get tired, but you have purpose so don’t get discouraged till you prevail.

Who would imagine God's saving power would look like this?

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭14‬:‭29‬-‭30‬ ‭EHV‬‬

This hit me about 2:00 this morning: How easy it is with all that’s going on in our lives & in the world to focus on the storm, become afraid & start to sink. But when we turn our eyes to Jesus; when we focus on Him; say His Name; reach out - Jesus will not only save us, but strengthen us to walk the waves & withstand the storms. Where’s your focus?
