Bible Listening Groups Announces Its Second HUB Church in Liberia! 🇱🇷
Another exciting milestone for Bible Listening Groups—and another opportunity to bring God's Word to more people.

In this photo, BLG Founder Bill Slappey presents a Starlink satellite system to Pastor Philip Noah, helping establish Liberia's second BLG HUB Church.

In a country where access to reliable, high-speed internet remains limited, this technology is a discipleship game changer. It opens the door for thousands of Liberians to access Bible apps and listen to God's Word in their own language.
But the technology is only the beginning. The mission is to equip people to:
Listen to God's Word. Share what they discover. Apply it to their lives. Help someone else do the same.

Through local churches and trained leaders, Bible Listening Groups are creating a simple, reproducible pathway for discipleship and multiplication—one group, one leader, and one community at a time.

We are grateful for Pastor Noah's partnership and for everyone helping make this vision a reality. The second HUB Church represents another step toward a future where more people can encounter Scripture, grow in faith, and become disciples who make disciples.

BIBLE LISTENING GROUPS: THE BEFORE & AFTER STORY — PART 2 OF 2

Yesterday, I shared a 90-second “before” video that set the stage for these two incredible “after” photos from Liberia.

The first photo captures more than 100 pastors and ministry leaders who completed a two-day Bible Listening Groups workshop—and made a commitment to become BLG Leaders.

But becoming a BLG Leader is about more than leading a group. It’s a commitment to serve others, multiply leaders, and point people to Jesus.

The second photo shows the pledge each leader is holding—a personal commitment to take what they learned and put it into action.

Bible Listening Groups are multiplying in Liberia —and the Word is doing the work.

A BIBLE LISTENING GROUP BEFORE AND AFTER STORY

A Bible Listening Groups workshop outside of Monrovia, Liberia. Here's a 90 second "before" video that sets the stage for the amazing "after" photo. The most important piece of equipment is the Starlink satellite. It's a discipleship game changer. In a country with only 30% high-speed internet coverage, people can now download a Bible in their own language.

What does it take to find peace when life doesn’t feel peaceful?

ANXIETY, UNCERTAINTY, FEAR, WORRY - They touch nearly every family, workplace, church, and community—and sometimes the people struggling the most are the ones we least expect.

This September, Bible Listening Groups is launching FINDING PEACE, a new 4-week online discipleship series centered on what Scripture has to say about finding peace in the middle of real life. One hour a week. A safe, welcoming online community. No lectures. No pressure. No pretending. You don't have to be religious.

If someone comes to mind who could use FINDING PEACE, please have them check out the flyer below. Enrollment is open now at BibleListening.com.

We are excited to announce that Praise Sanctuary in Liberia has partnered with Bible Listening Groups to become a HUB CHURCH!
THE HUB transforms a local church into a vibrant center for discipleship, leadership development, digital opportunity, and community impact.
Powered by Starlink high-speed internet, Praise Sanctuary can now provide a safe, welcoming place where people gather for praise and worship, prayer, evangelism, leadership training, and Bible Listening Groups—while also gaining access to educational, digital, and economic opportunities that are simply unavailable to many in the community.
This is more than bringing high-speed internet to a church in a country with only 30% high-speed coverage. It is equipping a local church to serve its community, develop leaders, make disciples, and create opportunities that can change lives.

Bill is also taking three Starlink satellite kits to support THE HUB, a partnership between Bible Listening Groups and Liberian churches. Africa Update – Bible Listening Groups founder, Bill Slappey is currently in Liberia, one of the poorest countries on the planet. On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, over 140 people from Grand Bassa, gathered for Bible Listening Groups leader training. Soon, they will lead groups of friends and family who will listen to scripture, discover what God is saying through guided discussion, and learn how to apply Biblical truth to their everyday life. After a few short weeks, the participants will go from knowing about Jesus to knowing Jesus and that He is what He says He is: The Way, The Truth and The Life.
