Alhamdolillah! We are thrilled to share that we held yet another insightful quarterly board meeting, followed by a delicious Appreciation Dinner with regional leadership in New York on August 15.

This gathering provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our board and staff to engage informally with local and regional leaders from Islamic centers, schools, and other Islamic institutions, get insights about their needs or challenges, and discuss how NAIT's programs can serve as solutions and essential tools in achieving our collective goals.

The dinner was part of NAIT's ongoing efforts to understand the evolving needs of the Muslim community across the country, we can explore new initiatives together to serve with excellence, integrity, and lasting impact, InshaAllah.

HISTORIC! NOW THAT'S CALLED PROGRESS! (Image and report courtesy of CAIR )
We are so proud of these Muslim leaders who stepped up, made sacrifices, and took responsibility to take action for change they wanted to see. They showed up even when it was hard - when others told them they couldn't. They showed up defying all odds with limited means, they defeated opponents with strong financial backing. Why - because they believed that change was possible, social justice was non-negotiable, and community service was an Islamic duty.

Congratulations to the entire Muslim community for voting, encouraging others to vote, organizing, donating, volunteering, attending townhalls and candidate forums, and civically engaging in countless ways to make this possible. We also thank our mosques who have been actively encouraging their congregants to engage in this process as a healthy act of service. (Ensure you follow the IRS guidelines for political engagement).

Keep up the good work knowing that we still have a long way to go especially when it comes to actually getting out to vote. And we must hold our officials accountable regardless of which community they belong to.

Participating in our country's civic and political process not only strengthens our democracy but also ensures that our voices are heard, our aspirations and needs are reflected at the local and national level policies, and Muslims are recognized, just like any other minority or community, for their contributions that make our country uniquely great.

As part of our Resilience Campaign, in partnership with CAIR, we conducted our first of the several planned "Mosque and School Safety Trainings" at Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Virginia. Participating institutional leaders and community members of the region learned how to prevent, recognize and respond to threats. There will be several more trainings to follow in other regions of the country as well, so be on the look out as it might be in your area. Something you don't want to miss. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a possibility. These trainings are part of a broader effort to help protect mosques, Islamic schools and faith-based institutions and ensure safer communities.
