Our Story

Awana is a world-wide nonprofit ministry focused on providing Bible-based evangelism and discipleship solutions. As the global leader in child and youth discipleship, Awana gives children the opportunity to know, love and serve Jesus, no matter their background.

At First Baptist Church of Homestead we have four clubs, divided by age:

Cubbies - ages 3 -4 years old (includes all Pre-K/K4 students)

Sparks - ages 5-7 (includes all K5 through 2nd graders)

Truth & Training Adventurers - ages 8-9 (includes all 3rd and 4th graders)

Truth & Training Challengers - ages 10-11 (includes all 5th and 6th graders)

All Clubbers are encouraged to memorize and understand (at their level) Bible verses. In doing so, they earn awards to wear on their club uniform. Clubbers are encouraged to bring their Bible, along with their club book. The books use the New King James version, however it is not necessary to purchase a new Bible if you use a different version at home.

Throughout the year we have special events and celebrations like Cake Night, Dress-Up Night, Awana Store Night (no money needed - the clubbers earn Awana Dollars for things like finishing book sections and wearing their uniform), Rodeo Parade Day, Grand Prix Day, and of course, Awards Night. We making learning the Bible, and what God wants us to be and do, FUN!

All Awana Club Leaders & Helpers are baptized believers and members of First Baptist Church of Homestead. We invite you to join us on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00pm. In addition to Awana Club, we have an amazing Youth Group that meets from 6:33-8:00pm on Wednesdays, as well as Women’s Bible Study and Prayer Group (open to EVERYONE). We would LOVE to meet you, and share God’s love with you!
