A BIG, BIG SHOUT-OUT TO THE JR. BETA CLUB!

For the last few weeks, these young people have helped keep Jesus and Jam going! Some came on Thursday to set up bags, and others showed up on Saturday to make sandwiches and deliver meals. Without their help, we would not have been able to feed the children we serve in our community.That means more to me than I can put into words.

Behind every bag is a child who matters, a child who needs food and deserves to know someone cares. Jesus and Jam has always been about Jesus and making His love visible. These students did that by showing up and putting their love into action!

Ginger Leccese, you are doing something right! Thank you for encouraging these young people to serve. To every student who helped: THANK YOU! Your time and hard work helped put food into children’s hands.

Adults, let’s be examples for our young people! Let’s show them what it means to love our neighbors, care for our children, and serve faithfully. They need to see us showing up and working beside them. What a beautiful example we can set together!

Our community’s children need us. Will you come serve?

Bring your family, invite a friend, or come with your church or community group. Every willing pair of hands makes a difference.

The Jesus and Jam Food Pantry has had to close because some people have taken advantage of a program intended to help those who truly need food. With limited funding and donations, we can no longer keep our shelves stocked for families facing hunger.

Our pantry exists to help individuals and families who do not have enough food or the means to buy it. When people request food simply because it is free, despite having enough for themselves, fewer resources remain for those in need.

We cannot always know someone’s circumstances, and we never want anyone to feel ashamed for needing help. We ask only for honesty and consideration for others.

Please, if you have enough food and the means to provide for yourself, leave these limited resources for those who do not.

Our shelves are now empty, and no food or diapers are available until further notice. This is heartbreaking for us and for the families who depend on this support.

Please help us help those who need it most. Our mission remains to make God’s love visible

There are things that happen in our lives that we simply do not understand, things that leave us hurt, disappointed, and heartbroken. We pray for answers, we search for peace, and sometimes all we can whisper is, “Lord, help me.”
Through the years, I have learned that I do not have to understand everything to trust God. I can bring Him my questions, my tears, and my broken heart. He does not turn away from our pain. He draws near and carries us when we do not have the strength to take another step.
Sometimes, looking back, I can see that God was doing for me what I would never have done for myself. In a season I never would have chosen, He was opening a door I could not yet see.
I would never have chosen cancer or chemotherapy. But even in that difficult journey, I have never felt so loved. Through the prayers, kindness, and faithful presence of others, I felt the love of Jesus holding me close. There were people who could not take away what I was facing, but they helped me carry it. That love is something I will never forget.
And now, God has opened a door for Jesus and Jam to begin a Christian Cancer Support Group in our community. My prayer is that the love poured into me will reach someone else who needs to know, “You are loved. You are prayed for. You do not have to walk through this alone.”
If you are facing cancer, have walked through it, or are loving someone through it, please come. You do not have to find the right words or put on a brave face. Come with your fears, your weariness, your gratitude, or your tears. Let us sit beside you, listen, and pray with you.
We will meet the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM at the Jesus and Jam Community Center.
We may not have every answer, but we can turn to Jesus together. We can make room for one another’s sorrow and hold on to hope when the road feels long.
Please come join us as we find God in every step we take together. May His love become visible in the way we care for one another.

I have sat in many speaker meetings, listening to my sons stand up and share their stories. They would begin with their childhood, and for a long time, I did not understand why.

“Why do they go all the way back?” I would wonder.

Then one day, I asked myself, “If I were standing there telling my story, where would I begin?”

And suddenly, I understood. I would go back, too. Back to the little girl I once was. Back to the people, the experiences, the love, and the hurts that helped shape me.

Our stories begin long before we have the words to tell them.

That is why Jesus and Jam means so much to me. These children are living the beginning of their stories right now.

We cannot know everything a child carries when they walk up to the doors of that green van. But we can make sure they are welcomed. We can learn their names, listen when they speak, feed them, pray for them, and remind them that they are precious to God.

A sandwich may fill a hungry stomach. But the love with which we give it can speak to a hungry heart: “I see you. You matter. You are loved.”

Jesus welcomed children. He made time for them. He said, “Let the little children come to me” (Mark 10:14). If we want to follow Him, we must make room for them, too—in our schedules, in our hearts, and in our lives.

We must do more than tell them to go to church. We must be the church to them, right where they are. They need to experience the love of Jesus through people who keep showing up.

That is the heart of Jesus and Jam: to make God’s love visible. Through a meal. Through patience. Through kindness. Through love that remembers a name and notices when someone is missing.

I cannot rewrite the beginning of my sons’ stories. But I can let what I have learned move me to love the children God places before us today.

One day, these children will stand somewhere and tell their own stories. My prayer is that they will remember:

“There were people at Jesus and Jam who loved me. They showed up for me. And through them, I began to understand that Jesus loved me, too.”

Lord, help us see each child as You do. Keep our hearts tender and our hands willing. Let everything we do at Jesus and Jam point them to You. Amen.
