Jeremiah 17:7-8
V.7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. V.8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Trust--To commit to the care of, in confidence Webster's 1828 dictionary
Many trust in the Lord's blessings, they trust in the church or it's dogma, they trust in the brethrens ability to enable them. But very few trust in the Lord. And even less trusteth in the Lord. You see the little eth at the end of this word trust carries weight our world knows little about anymore. Believeth, trusteth they carry the action past what we can accomplish of ourselves, and brings about a perpetual action. I'm not raising a KJV only debate here, but rather acknowledging that we have left our Fathers side of the story out.
When He calls we step into the light and He does a work we can not do. This work draws us into a place of trust that utterly and absolutely relys on Him!
There are many who have taken this step in salvation, but never taken this step in sanctification. You are planted by the waters, but you never drink. And you wonder why the sun that should be a source of life (produce green leaves, produce fruit), leaves you parched, dry, and withered.
Drink, christian, drink, and with everything that you possess, everything that you are, let go of the past, and fully trusteth in the river of life! You will become healthy spiritually and be a shelter, a source of food, and strength to the parcel the Lord Himself hath put you on!!!! Thus fulfilling the emptiness that can only be filled with committing to the care of Him, in confidence!!!
