This past Sun Oct 26, 2025, New Hope celebrated in pink for October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with Guest Speaker, Sis Yolanda Coleman of the Friendship Baptist Church of Haynesville, LA. The Fight is not over. Her message stemmed from Genesis 32: 24-32. As she blessed the congregation with exhortation, Pastor Young concluded that, if we are to FIGHT, it should be a GOOD fight of FAITH that Paul talked about in 2Tim 4:7-8. We will CONTINUE seeking God and allow his will to govern our living, for the just shall live by faith!

This past Sunday, New Hope celebrated our 36th Church Anniversary! Pastor S.G. Orange of the Shiloh Baptist Church of Homer, LA was the Guest speaker. He talked about The Generosity of God, and used Acts 3:1-10 as Scriptural text. Just a few nuggets we'll share!
God dispenses His generosity to the world through Jesus Christ and the Church. Matthew 16:16-18 describes this Church, which is built upon the revelation of who Jesus is! He was authorized and organized. Acts 3 shows us a text of a man who no doubt has HEARD about Jesus, but wasn't so concerned about the revelation or knowledge of Jesus. He wasn't concerned about going to church, but it is apparent he knew the church people would hear his cry for alms and respond. However, this man ended up getting some UNEXPECTED help. He perhaps was expecting PENNIES, but ended up receiving POWER! Instead of GOLD, he received GOD! Oftentimes, 'prosperity' gospel is centered upon begging, and not coming to learn or enhance your relationship with God and the knowledge of and about Him. The unexpected happening was that Peter and John didn't have alms, and through them preaching about Jesus, God's generosity saw BEYOND the cup. God looks beyond our faults, that's a great place for a praise break right there! God's plan of salvation through repentance doesn't REQUIRE that we should be examined for worthiness, He doesn't check our credit! Because Peter and John didn't have alms, they gave the lame man Jesus! He was endowed with power to walk, and jump for joy! Peter and John said look on us, in the name of Him who can wash away sins, call the dead from the depths to life. The question is, will people see God's generosity through us?! Will we allow our light to shine so that mankind can see our good works and glorify our Father?!

Thank all of you that came out and fellowshipped with us!

This past Sunday, May 12, 2024, we celebrated our Mother's for Mother's Day. Pastor Young brought the Word talking about the story of Hannah, who was mocked at first because it was known that she couldn't have any children. Pastor's subject explains it all::
Subject:: What a Mighty God We Serve
Scripture Text:: 1 Samuel 2

He started off proclaiming God is awesome, profound, and whatever we need, He has it. He's omnipresent to do whatever He will and may, whenever He wants to! Serving the Lord DOES payoff, but you have to serve the Lord more than the world. While expounding on Matthew 6:24, he also made mention of how some won't be late for their jobs/entertainment functions, but will be late for church and/or prayer. Some have it backwards!
On to Hannah in Chapter 1, who was in sorrow and pain, made a covenant with God asking for a male child, and that she'll give him back to the Lord. But, by Chapter 2, she had SIX, and she displayed a prayer of gratitude!
Proverbs 14:1 speaks about a WISE mother.
1. Helps others with GOOD advice
2. Seeks knowledge
3. Values WISDOM above riches
4. Stays on a straight course
5. She grows stronger and not weaker
It is to be noted, Hannah's name means "The God who speaks".
1. Hannah made a **DECISION** to trust God, and his plan for her son's life, even while in grief and agony. She had to ENDURE, learn how to wait on God and His sovereignty. She wasn't able to have children, but then trusted the Lord and God gave her kings!
2. She knew God was her **DEFENDER**. Penninah was picking at Hannah because of her infertility. Penninah just knew there was no way possible for Hannah to have children. But, Hannah endured in the Lord. Sometimes, you may have uncomfortable seasons, but IF THE LORD IS FOR YOU, He's more than the whole world against you!
3. Hannah knew God to be a **DOOR OPENER**. What about you out there?!?! Revelations 3:20, BEHOLD, will you invite the Lord as He knocks?! Allowing Him in your heart will manifest doors to be opened for and unto you!
This is just a brief RECAP of Sunday Morning's session, we do invite you to come worship and fellowship with us, 945a Sunday School, and 1045a Morning Worship! Be blessed!!

****Sun Apr 21 Recap****

Subject: Grace, Gospel, Generational Blessings
Scripture Reference: Eph 2:8, Roman's 1:16, Gen 12:1-3

Grace, i.e., un-merited favor, Devine health. Jesus died to give us saving grace, serving grace, sharing grace and sufficient grace! Grace gives us promise, nobody or nothing can take away our salvation. Even though you might slip or slide from time to time, if you're saved, you're SAVED, sealed in God's protection. John 6:36, He won't cast out those that believe. Yes, you will be disciplined, but not condemned. We ARE NOT saved because we've been 'good', we're saved because of the GRACE of God. Repentance should be worked when we find ourselves slipping because of grace!

Gospel, i.e., the Good News. John 10:11. The Gospel and the "religious spirit" are not synonymous. The religious spirit has only a form of godliness but denies the power of God, which is the Word of God. It has a zeal of God but not according to the knowledge, or the Good News of God. The Good News promotes being intimate with God, a day to day moment of and in God, submissive to His will and power. His power becomes real to us. His Word makes us strong, safe, and secure! Joshua 1:8, the Good News should not depart out of our mouths. Meditate on it, and we will prosper. GOD WANTS US TO PROSPER. Religious spirits despise prosperity. Roman's 1:16, the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. Hebrews 4:12, the Word is powerful, can cut and heal at the same time. John 4:24, His Word is SPIRIT (John 6:63), and we are to worship IN SPIRIT, and in truth.

Generational Blessings, Gen 12:1-3. God has made a promise. Abraham's name to be great. In our walk sometimes, we may experience problems, but a promise is a promise. Problems don't stop the promise. There is a process!! God also blesses those that bless you, and curse those that curse you. Every now and then, a problem may cause you to be thrown off in the process, but once you learn to do things God's way, you will receive the promise. The promise child was an example. They tried to do it another way, but the promise child came as a result of doing it God's way. Continue trusting God in the process!

We hope this Recap has been a blessing to you, and we do invite you to come fellowship with us in the Word and service, Sunday School 945a, and Morning Worship 1045

This past Sunday, Apr 14, 2024, Rev Curry was asked to preach, and Pastor Young expressed his appreciation for the Word brought with great joy!

Rev Curry preached on The Power Of Prayer, Scripture Text: 2 King 20:1-6

Although Rev Curry used PLENTY of scriptures talking about prayer, it is important to know that PRAYER is a tool we have available in our arsenals as Believers. He started out saying in James 5:16, the effectual fervent prayer of the RIGHTEOUS avails much. We have to have a soft and not stony heart that God wants to give us according to Ezekiel 11:19, and Ezekiel 36:26.. There is a condition we must maintain. 2 Chronicles 7:14 indicates that condition by starting out saying "IF"! Pride or lack of humility won't do it. God hates a proud an arrogant look or heart.IF WE humble ourselves, THEN PRAY, then seek God's face, and turn from our wicked ways, then He will hear and heal our land, which describes the position of the fervent prayers of the RIGHTEOUS! We should ALL learn HOW TO PRAY, the disciples asked Jesus in Luke 11:1. Jesus said mankind should always pray, we should have a prayerful mind. Matthew 7:7, when we pray, ASK, SEEK, and KNOCK! 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says we should pray without ceasing. In fact, 1 Samuel 12:23 says it is as a sin not to pray. 1 John 5:14 says our request should be in the will of God, in which, that's why Jesus must teach us to pray. James 4:3, we need to make sure our motives are pure, and that we're not asking amiss. In Matthew 6, Jesus taught saying it's not about our word count or being seen of men when we do pray.
Back to Hezekiah in 2 Kings, his resume could be found in 2 Kings 18 as a man of faith. Verse 6, it was said he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, and he trusted God! So, in Chapter 20, when he got sick, Hezekiah knew who he was and could plead his case with God. He became sick unto death, prayed and besought the Lord, and the Lord healed him and added more years to his life.
Will you all begin to get in position and pray to the Lord to heal your land?!?!
We hope these notes have been a blessing to your reading, and we invite you to come worship with us Sunday mornings, 945a Bible Study, and 1045a Worship service! Be blessed!!

Sunday's Message:: Paul's Perspective of Grace, 2 Cor 12: 7-9

With God, we must learn how to endure not only the good, but the bad as well. There is a certain position we must remain in, and that's our humility towards God. Just because things may not feel God doesn't mean God isn't available or working. We must understand even whenever we desire to do good, evil is always present.
With that being said, Paul's solution to dealing with his thorns in the flesh is prayer! God's strength is made perfect in weaknesses through God's GRACE. God can/will take you through some things to know Him better.
1. Jesus is a DEVINE (Heavenly) God - There's NO ONE like Him. Matthew 16: 15-17, Simon Peter gives a personal revelation and account of who was Jesus to Him, The Christ. Revelations 1:11, He's the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end. Acts 3:14, He's the Holy One. Galatians 3:16, He's the Creator of all things. Mark 2:5-11, He's the forgiver of sin. John 17:2, He's the giver of eternal life.
2. He's DEVOTED - He didn't have to do what He did, but it was love, not the nails that held Him to the cross!
Luke 2:4 He's always about His Father's business, being devoted to the Father's purpose/plan. His thoughts/ways are not our thoughts/ways! Roman 8:28, we KNOW all things work together for the good of those that love the Lord. Matthew 16:21, He's devoted to God's purpose/promise. The purpose/plan, John 12:32, if He be lifted up, He'll draw all men unto Him.
3. He's our Deliverer - Romans 6:23, He delivered us from the power of sin, in which the wages of sin is death. We can DEPEND on Him to save us, secure us, satisfy us, strengthen us, and supply us all of our needs! He's faithful, fruitful, a Fixer, and Forgiver!!

We pray these notes may be a blessing to your spiritual journey and fellowship with the Lord, be blessed!!

On this past Resurrection Sunday, we were blessed to have 3 of our young children make the choice to get baptized. What an awesome way to begin Resurrection Sunday by demonstrating and displaying it!
We also received the word from Pastor Young that came from 1 Cor 15:3-4. To sum it up, God specializes in restoration, reviving us, redeeming us, and redirecting our lives. The plan of salvation wrought through the working of the Resurrection has given us hope! We hope you guys have enjoyed your Resurrection Sunday, continue being blessed!!

The old church used to sing a song, "what a time, what a time, what a time"!!
Pastor Young has expressed how grateful and pleased he was with this past Sunday (Feb 25, 2024) fellowship with Guest Speaker Pastor Jay Williamson of Demonstration Church! It was our casual Sunday, but an elegant word was brought.
Pastor Williamson spoke about "I Move Different", scriptures from Ecclesiates 11: 9-10, and Roman's 12:1-2.
Hopefully, some of the nuggets, as I paraphrase, will bless you!
He started out saying at a young age how he felt he was cursed because of the different path he learned to follow due to him now knowing it was the hand of God on his life. He tried to fit in and "switch up", but God didn't "switch up" on him! He said it benefits you NOTHING to forsake the Father just to "fit in". Once he started to ACCEPT the God difference for his life, people around him learned to accept him being different! People will respect the version of you that you're confident about.
1. "Different" has STANDARDS. The standards God has for you are to keep you on track with your destiny of blessings from Him.
2. Think 'Differently". Leaders think different about themselves, which distinguishes them from an ordinary follower. God wants us to put on the mind of Christ, and ALLOW your minds to be RENEWED! Your decisions are the fruit of your thinking!
3. Serve and LIVE "Different". Service is part of your worship. And let's learn not to only just serve the things of God, but the actual BEING of God.

Thank you Pastor Williamson for an on-time Word! If this information has been a blessing to you, we invite you to experience more in person, 945a Sunday School, and 1045a Sunday Morning Worship.
