Prayer focus 6-7-26

“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
“Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening.”
(Rev. 2:7 and 1 Sam. 3:9)
Lord, help us to be listening intently to hear Your voice. Thank You for Your Spirit to help us understand what You mean! And help us have willing hearts, ready to follow Your directives. We want to bring You glory and be about Your work, and we need Your help!

Prayer focus 5-17-26

“Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.” (James 1:17)

Lord, our world is ever-changing and can make us feel off-balance. We thank You that You are steady and dependable! Yet despite Your comforting constancy, You are somehow always relevant! We marvel at You; You dazzle us and draw our hearts. Teach our hearts to worship You afresh every day, delighting to bring You praise!

Prayer focus 5-10-26

The large crowd was hungry. “They do not need to go away,” Jesus told His disciples. “You give them something to eat.” Just one boy’s small lunch surely couldn’t be enough! “Bring it here to Me,” Jesus said. After the Master’s touch, that tiny portion fed the crowd to full, plus 12 baskets left over! (Matthew 14:13-21)
Lord of all, we bring You what we have, though it feels meager in our hands, knowing that You can bless it and bring abundant bounty. We hunger to see You work and to be a part of it. We bless Your holy name!

“Without weakening in his faith, he [Abraham] acknowledged the decrepitness of his body (since he was about a hundred years old) and the lifelessness of Sarah’s womb. Yet he did not waver through disbelief in the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God was able to do what He had promised.” –(Romans 4:19-21)

Lord, we acknowledge the challenges we face here at HCN, yet we know You are able to do amazing things. We praise and glorify You as we watch expectantly to see You work mightily!
