AN ENCOURAGING WORD - 6/24/26
"When He had completed all His discourse in the hearing of the people, He went to Capernaum" (Luke 7:1).

I sometimes struggle to finish what I start. Sometimes things get more involved than initially planned and sometimes things are not working out as expected. But other times I get distracted by the next project before completing the current one. So, in reading our verse this morning, I was drawn to the way that Jesus "completed all" before moving to His next task. Granted, Jesus never started anything that wasn't worthy of completion, but at least I can learn from the ancillary piece of this account - finish what you start.

AN ENCOURAGING WORD - 6/22/26
"Indeed, if a person should live many years, let that person rejoice in them all..." (Ecclesiastes 11:8a).

The truth that most folks resist facing is that this physical existence we currently experience is temporary and very brief in the scope of eternity. We all have a finite number of minutes, and they continue to tick away night and day. Those who have trusted Christ as their Lord have an infinitely greater life to look forward to. Those who have rejected Christ... Regardless of your spiritual condition (and I implore you to confess Jesus as Lord) it is foolish to waste the minutes, hours, and days you still have. Rejoice and enjoy this life, and there is no better way than believing and following what the Bible says.
