AN ENCOURAGING WORD - 6/2/26
"Will the faultfinder contend with the Almighty? Let him who reproves God answer it" (Job 40:2).

Admit it. You don't always agree with what God does in your life, or at least with His perceived inactivity. We've all been there. But none of us have been through what Job endured; and there is no indication that Job's emotional, physical, and spiritual pain is ever explained to him. But Yahweh does admonish Job for his complaints and faultfinding directed at Him. God is perfect in His ways and in His timing and He never misses anything - there is always a divine purpose that is the absolute best for us. We should be content always, trust God, and work on that pesky issue of always looking to lay the fault for our troubles on Him.

AN ENCOURAGING WORD - 6/1/26
Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, I will make three tabernacles here, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah." (Matthew 17:4).

The skillful ability to hold one's tongue and to contemplate before uttering a word is difficult at times. Our emotions can assume command and begin barking out orders to our lips before any kind of measured thought can engage. Peter was one of those kinds of people. The excitement of the moment had him saying and doing things at lightning speed before a rational thought could enter his consciousness. Jesus does not even respond to Peter's impetuousness in the above passage, as well-meaning as it was. We can learn from Peter's hasty actions and grow in the skill of thinking before speaking.

AN ENCOURAGING WORD - 5/31/26
"The way of the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but He loves one who pursues righteousness" (Proverbs 15:9).

God abhors evil and wickedness. On the other hand, Yahweh's love never ceases for His own. Yet Solomon, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, emphasizes Yahweh's love for those who pursue righteousness, and that is well worth noting. How much do we PURSUE righteousness. To pursue requires an intentional and thought-out plan. It is obviously good to be righteous in the heat of the moment, but how often to do plan and prepare and seek opportunity to be righteous; not to be seen or for the praise of others, but just to be pleasing to our Lord? Pursue!
