Sometimes God answers our prayers by changing our circumstances.

Sometimes He answers by changing our perspective.

Elisha did not pray for the enemy army to disappear. He prayed for his servant's eyes to be opened.

What if the breakthrough you need today is not a change in your situation, but a clearer view of God's presence in the middle of it?

God has not abandoned you. He has not forgotten you. He is working even when you cannot see it.

We are halfway through Builder VBS, and it has been exciting to watch children learn about God's love and faithfulness. There is still time to join us tonight from 5:15 PM to 8:00 PM.

Builders know that a strong structure begins with a strong foundation.

The same is true in our spiritual lives.

Graduates are beginning a new chapter. Children are spending this week learning about Jesus at VBS. Adults are facing decisions and responsibilities every day. No matter our age, the question remains the same: What are we building our lives upon?

The world offers many foundations that seem strong for a season, but only Christ provides a foundation that lasts forever.

Today, take a moment to evaluate what is supporting your life. Is it success? Comfort? Popularity? Or is it Christ?

Join us again tonight for Builder VBS from 5:15 PM to 8:00 PM as we continue learning how to build our lives on God's truth.

As we begin a new week, it is worth asking ourselves a simple question: What are we looking at?

In Sunday's message, Elisha's servant saw an army surrounding them and immediately became afraid. Elisha saw the same situation, but he also saw something greater. He saw God's presence and protection.

Many of us are facing situations this week that feel overwhelming. Maybe it is a health concern, a financial burden, a family struggle, or uncertainty about the future. What if God is already at work in ways you cannot yet see?

Our perspective changes everything. When we focus only on the problem, fear grows. When we focus on God, faith grows.

This week, ask God to help you see beyond your circumstances and recognize His hand at work in your life.

Also, tonight begins Vacation Bible School! Join us for Builder VBS from 5:15 PM to 8:00 PM. We would love to see your children as we build our lives on the foundation of Jesus Christ.

What a special day at Hopewell Baptist Church as we celebrated our 2026 graduates and recognized the exciting journeys that lie ahead for each of them!
As families reflected on cherished memories and graduates looked toward new opportunities, we were reminded that our perspective shapes how we see life's transitions. It is easy to focus on the uncertainty, the changes, or even the challenges that come with a new season. But God's Word calls us to look beyond what we can see with our physical eyes and develop a spiritual perspective.
In 2 Kings 6:13-17, Elisha's servant was overwhelmed when he saw the enemy army surrounding them. Yet Elisha prayed that God would open his servant's eyes, and suddenly he saw the mountain filled with God's heavenly protection. What appeared to be a hopeless situation was actually a moment where God's presence was greater than the problem.
That same truth applies to us today. Whether you are graduating, sending a graduate into the next chapter of life, or simply facing an uncertain season, remember that God is already there. His presence goes before you, walks beside you, and surrounds you with His care.
"Do not be afraid, for those who are with us outnumber those who are with them." – 2 Kings 6:16
Our prayer is the same as Elisha's: that God would open our eyes to see His hand at work in our lives. May we look beyond our circumstances and recognize His guidance, protection, and faithfulness every day.
Congratulations again to all of our graduates! We are proud of you, we are praying for you, and we look forward to seeing how God works through your lives in the years ahead.
If you missed today's service or would like to hear the message again, be sure to watch it online through our website, app, or page.

Fear has become one of the greatest struggles in our world today.

Fear about the future. Fear about finances. Fear about health. Fear about what tomorrow might bring.

But Romans 8 closes with an incredible reminder that nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Not hardship.
Not trials.
Not failure.
Not fear.

The same God who saved you is still holding you today.

When fear starts speaking loudly, remind yourself that God has not abandoned you. His love is greater than every storm you face.

Discouragement has a way of making us focus only on what is happening right now.

Romans 8 reminds us that God is still working even in the middle of pain, uncertainty, and waiting. Some of the greatest promises in Scripture are found in this chapter because God knew we would need hope.

Sometimes we cannot see what God is doing behind the scenes, but that does not mean He has stopped working.

Your current season is not the end of your story.

God is faithful in the waiting. He is faithful in the struggle. He is faithful in the storm.

Keep trusting Him even when you cannot yet see the outcome.

Trying to live the Christian life in your own strength will leave you exhausted.

That was part of the picture from Sunday’s sermon. One man was rowing alone while another allowed the wind to move the sailboat forward. One was striving constantly while the other was being guided.

Romans 8 reminds us that the Christian life was never meant to be lived without the Holy Spirit.

God did not save you and then leave you to figure everything out alone. He guides, convicts, comforts, strengthens, and directs us every step of the way.

There is freedom when we stop trying to control everything ourselves and begin trusting the Spirit of God to lead us.
