We also continued our Biblical Truths for a Lasting Marriage series with a timely message on Expectations of the Husband, challenging men to love sacrificially and to lead with humility and understanding, as Christ loves the Church!

Biblical submission for wives is often misunderstood as control, but Ephesians 5 begins with this: “submitting to one another in the fear of God.”

Marriage was never meant to be one person walking ahead while the other trails behind. It’s a husband and wife walking together in humility, love, protection, and unity.

Submission might be one of the most misunderstood words in marriage.

Biblical submission was never about control, silence, or tolerating abuse. Before Paul addresses wives, he first says: “Submit to one another in the fear of God.” (Ephesians 5:21)

Healthy, Christ-centered marriage is built on humility, sacrifice, love, honor, and mutual respect.
