From the ideas and dreams of 50 families, a Church was built in the Bayshore area of New Jersey now serving over 450 families. Beginning in 1973, with the founding of the Bayshore American Hellenic Association (BAHA), a dedicated group of people organized to share their common beliefs, values, language, and customs. With 88 signatures to apply to the Archdiocese to begin a Church, His Eminence Arc

hbishop Iakovos issued a temporary charter and ratified the Interim Parish Council on July 16, 1976. From that date one, plans were set in motion to raise funds, buy land in 1977, and build a Church. All during the that time, Church services and other activities were held in local venues. A Building Committee, chaired by Michael Loizou in 1985, began the process that resulted in Door-opening on December 18, 1988.

Today, the Orthodox Church joyfully celebrates the feast of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle, and with love and gratitude we offer our heartfelt wishes to His All-Holiness, Patriarch Bartholomew, on the occasion of his Name Day.

For decades, our Patriarch has faithfully carried the sacred responsibility of serving the Mother Church of Constantinople and bearing witness to the Orthodox faith throughout the world with wisdom, humility, perseverance, and love.

As Orthodox Christians in America, we give thanks to God for his 35 years of leadership, prayers, and unwavering devotion to Christ and His Holy Church.

May Saint Bartholomew the Apostle intercede for him, and may our Lord grant him many years of health, strength, peace, and continued fruitful ministry for the glory of God and the unity of Holy Orthodoxy.

Χρόνια Πολλά, Παναγιώτατε!
Εἰς πολλὰ ἔτη, Δέσποτα! ☦️🙏🏻

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

Our Greek Festival is finally here! 🇬🇷🎉

As we prepare to welcome thousands of guests to our parish this week, we humbly ask for your help. Please take a moment to like, share, comment on, and repost our festival flyer and information on social media.

Every share helps us reach new people and invites others to experience the faith, fellowship, hospitality, culture, and love of our Kimisis family.

Our festival is much more than food and music. It is an opportunity to open the doors of our church, meet our neighbors, build friendships, and share the beautiful spirit of our Orthodox Christian community.

Thank you for your continued support, prayers, and enthusiasm. We look forward to welcoming everyone to a wonderful weekend of faith, family, and fellowship.

May God bless you and your families, and may the Most Holy Theotokos continue to watch over our parish.

With love in Christ,

Fr. Avgoustinos & the Kimisis Festival Team

Perhaps the greatest sign of God’s love is not that He blesses us when we are strong, but that He never abandons us when we are weak.

There are moments in life when we become discouraged, lost, wounded, or tired. Moments when we even begin to give up on ourselves. Yet God never does.

The Feast of the Holy Spirit reminds us that the Comforter is always at work, gently calling us back, strengthening our hearts, and leading us home to Christ.

No matter how far we have wandered, no matter how many mistakes we have made, no matter how long we have been away, the door of God’s mercy remains open.

Today, let us remember this beautiful truth: no one is ever too far away, too lost, or too broken to return home.

The Holy Spirit is still calling. And God is still waiting with open arms.

Blessed Feast of the Holy Spirit. ☦️🕊️

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

What a fantastic Olympics weekend!

On behalf of the entire Kimisis GOYA Coaching & Advisory Team, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make this weekend such a beautiful and memorable experience for our youth.

Thank you for your patience, support, donations, flexibility, and countless acts of kindness throughout the weekend. Whether you helped organize, drove athletes, cheered from the stands, donated supplies, or simply encouraged our GOYAns along the way, your love and support meant so much to all of us.

We are especially grateful for our incredible advisors, coaches, and chaperones — Lynn, Vanessa, Georgia, Nikki, Coaches Debbie, Fiorella, Churney, and Taso, along with our special guest chaperones Angie and Luke — for your time, energy, humor, sacrifices, and willingness to step in wherever needed. This weekend would not have been possible without your teamwork, dedication, and love for our youth.

Most importantly, we want to recognize our amazing GOYAns! While bringing home 18 medals is certainly exciting, what made us proudest was watching our young people compete with heart, encourage one another, welcome athletes from other parishes, and represent Kimisis with kindness, sportsmanship, humility, and class. They were truly a joy to coach, chaperone, and cheer on throughout the entire weekend.

And yes… they brought home some hardware too!

We also want to offer our deepest congratulations and love to our graduating seniors on their final GOYA Olympics. Thank you for the memories, leadership, friendship, and example you have given to our younger GOYAns throughout the years. Watching you compete one last time was both emotional and inspiring. We are so proud of the young adults you have become, and we pray God continues to guide and bless every step ahead of you.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make this Olympics weekend such a positive, joyful, and faith-filled experience for our youth and community. We are already looking forward to next year!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF OUR BEAUTIFUL KIDS! 👏 ❤️👏
