A memorial concert honoring the life and musical legacy of Dr. Lajos Zeke, beloved organist and pianist of First United Church of Christ, will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at First United Church of Christ, Hollywood, Florida.

Dr. Zeke faithfully shared his extraordinary gifts at the piano and organ each Sunday, enriching worship and touching countless lives through music. In addition to his devoted service to the church, he dedicated thirty years to teaching music and theatre students at New World School of the Arts, shaping and inspiring generations of young artists.

This special evening will celebrate his artistry, devotion, and the lasting impact he made within our church community and beyond.

Attendance is free and open to the public.

Past Service Highlights - September 7th: “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people.”

On the shores of Galilee, Jesus called ordinary fishermen into extraordinary lives. Simon Peter and Andrew left their nets at once. James and John left their boat and father to follow.

Their story is a reminder: faith often begins when we release what feels safe and trust the call of God. 💙

May we listen for that call in our own lives—and have the courage to follow where it leads.

✨ Lessons from the Living World ✨

Life itself is our teacher. 🌿
The trees, the sparrow, the wind, the stars —
each one carries wisdom if we walk with open hearts.

This week we remember God as the “Bringer-to-birth,”
sustaining creation and calling us into community, care, and joy.

May we listen deeply —
to nature, to one another, and to God’s Spirit,
moving in all of life. 💚

This past Sunday, Rev. Edgar Miller delivered a powerful message on Mary of Bethany’s anointing of Jesus — a bold act of love that challenged judgment and hypocrisy.

Mary of Bethany’s anointing of Jesus reveals a deep, intuitive act of love and mourning that Jesus defends against Judas’ hypocritical critique. Jesus' words expose Judas’ false concern for the poor and affirm Mary’s right to grieve and honor Him in her own way. This story invites us to engage our senses and hearts to recognize God’s presence in everyday moments and reflect honestly on our relationship with Him.

How do you recognize God's presence in the everyday moments of your life? 🌅👣 Share some examples in the comments below👇

✨This Sunday, Connie Purser shared a powerful message about letting our light shine ✨

Referencing the hymns "This Little Light of Mine" and "There’s a Sweet, Sweet Spirit", she reminded us of the light in each person, and that God’s Spirit is in everyone. By recognizing that light in others, we build bridges and live out Jesus’ way of love, empathy, justice, and peace 🕊 ❤️ With powerful parallels between scripture, hymns, and life experiences, Connie's second sermon of this year was deeply moving.

🌿 Today marks the first Sunday of Lent—a season of reflection, repentance, and renewal as we prepare for Easter. As we journey through this season, we are reminded of Jesus’ trials in the wilderness in Luke 4:1-13 and the power of relying on God’s word. Lent invites us to examine our faith, grow spiritually, and draw closer to God. 🙏✨

Let’s embrace this season of self-reflection, service, and spiritual growth together.
