Graduation season is always one of our favorite times of the year as we celebrate the accomplishments, growth, and bright futures of our graduates. Whether completing preschool, high school, college, or another educational milestone, each achievement reflects hard work, perseverance, and God's faithfulness along the way.

As a church family, we rejoice with our graduates and their loved ones. We pray that they will continue to seek God's guidance as they step into new opportunities and adventures. May they walk confidently in the plans He has prepared for them and shine His light wherever they go.

Congratulations, Graduates! We are proud of you and look forward to seeing all that God will do through your lives.

Memorial Day is more than cookouts, flags, and the unofficial start of summer. It is a sacred pause — a day to remember those who laid down their lives so others could live in freedom. One of the most recognizable symbols of Memorial Day is the red poppy.

The poppy became a symbol of remembrance after World War I, inspired by the poem In Flanders Fields, where bright red poppies grew among the graves of fallen soldiers. In places marked by devastation, beauty still bloomed. That image reminds us that even in sorrow, God brings hope.

Jesus said in John 15:13,
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Memorial Day invites us to reflect on sacrifice — both the sacrifice of brave men and women who served our nation and the ultimate sacrifice of Christ, who gave His life for the world.

Like the poppy rising from broken ground, we are called to live lives marked by gratitude, remembrance, and hope. May we never take freedom lightly, and may we honor those who served not only with words, but by living with compassion, courage, and faith.

Prayer:
Lord, today we remember the fallen heroes who gave their lives in service to others. Comfort the families who still carry loss, strengthen those who serve today, and help us to be people who value sacrifice, peace, and freedom. As the poppies bloom, remind us that even after great sorrow, hope still rises. Amen.
