The families of Mother Estelle Barnes wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the many acts of kindness, prayers, phone calls, visits, and expressions of love shown during the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, family member, and friend.

While their hearts mourn her absence, they will rejoice in the memories she leaves behind and in the assurance of God's promises. They are deeply grateful for every act of love shown to their family.

With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Mother Estelle Barnes. Mother Barnes was a cherished woman of faith, kindness, and wisdom whose presence touched the lives of many. Her love, prayers, and gentle spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

We ask that you keep the Henderson, Barnes and Macedonia Church family lifted in prayer during this difficult time as we mourn the loss of our beloved Mother Estelle Barnes. May God grant the families strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead.

Black History Month, observed each February in the United States, is a time dedicated to recognizing and honoring the achievements, contributions, and experiences of African Americans throughout history. It highlights the vital role Black individuals have played in shaping the nation’s culture, economy, science, politics, and civil rights.

The observance began in 1926 as Negro History Week, founded by historian Dr. Carter G. Woodson to ensure that Black history was studied and valued. In 1976, it was expanded to a full month, emphasizing that Black history is an essential part of American history.
