For centuries, Christians have declared, "Christ is RISEN!"

This morning at 6:30am, hundreds gathered on Hollywood Beach as the sun rose over the ocean. We sang together, opened the Scriptures, witnessed baptisms, and fixed our attention on the risen Christ.

“He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.” — Matthew 28:6 (ESV)

What took place today was a clear reminder of the gospel: Jesus Christ died for sin and rose again, and that truth still calls people to repentance and faith.

Grateful for every person who came, served, and worshiped with us. If you joined us, take time to consider what you heard and saw today.

Sheridan Hills Baptist Church invites you to join us for Easter on Hollywood Beach. Easter Service at 6:30am.

For centuries, Christians have gathered at dawn on Easter to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. The first witnesses found the empty tomb at daybreak and shared the good news that He was alive.

A sunrise beach service lets us remember that moment in a simple, meaningful way. We’ll sing, read Scripture, and reflect on what the resurrection means for our lives today.

Whether you follow Jesus, are curious about faith, or just want to see what Easter is all about, you are welcome to join us.

Bring a chair or blanket, invite a friend, and start Easter morning with us by the ocean.

Every Sunday at Sheridan Hills is special because we hear from God’s word. This past Sunday, we got to hear a testimony of how God saves sinners, practiced the two ordinances that Jesus gave: baptism and Lord’s supper, and install a new group of deacons, who are servants in the body of Christ. At the beginning of every year, we gather together to prepare our Worship Center for the new year, removing old decorations and cleaning. We have a bonfire after dinner, a time of prayer, and fellowship. Then on one of the first Sunday’s, we hear from God’s word and observe the Lord supper. Great way to start 2026! Our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service features a beautiful orchestra and timeless Christmas carols all to usher in the advent of Jesus Christ. Children will be invited to the stage in a special manger scene moment to remember the setting of Jesus’s birth. As is our tradition, we end the service by taking the Christ candle and carefully lighting each attender’s candle, to remember that Jesus Christ is the light who entered the darkness of the world. This moment is set to a tender rendition of the carol Silent Night, Holy Night. Start a new tradition with your family or come back and enjoy the beauty of Christ this Christmas.

We’re thrilled to share these beautiful moments from our recent baptisms! Seeing brothers and sisters take this step of faith and obedience fills our hearts with joy.
Why is baptism so important? In the Bible, baptism is a powerful symbol of our union with Christ. As Romans 6:3-4 tells us, “Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” This act publicly declares our identification with Jesus, dying to our old selves and rising to new life in Him. Union with Christ isn’t just a doctrine; it’s THE way of life of every true Christian.
Baptism itself doesn’t save a person. Salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). It’s not a magical ritual or a work that earns God’s favor. It’s an outward expression of the inward reality that’s already happened in our hearts.
If you’re a believer who’s yet to be baptized, we encourage you to prayerfully consider this beautiful ordinance. Reach out, we’d love to walk with you!

We value COMMUNITY because GOD calls us to community. Every year, right before Thanksgiving (too soon??), we gather to decorate our church building to usher in the Christmas season. Every weekend is an opportunity for our church family to be TOGETHER. On Friday evening, our young adults celebrated their FRIENDS-giving meal, to celebrate Christ-centered friendships. On Saturday, we had a blast at our monthly WORK day. Sunday morning, we heard new believers share their TESTIMONIES. In the evening, we met for our quarterly covenant members meeting where we shared a meal and prayed for each other. COVENANT community is a GIFT from GOD!
