As Labor Day approaches tomorrow, the Grays Chapel CME Church in Hudsonville will embark on a remarkable journey of love and generosity with the Labor of Love program throughout September. This program is to collect donations to support the upkeep of our sacred cemetery and church grounds. We invite all members, friends, and family whose loved ones rest in the church cemetery to join hands in supporting this month-long endeavor with your donations. Maintaining the beauty and serenity of our church grounds and cemetery is a labor of love that resonates deeply with us. Therefore, we ask that you join us in this noble effort. Grays Chapel CME Church celebrated our 156th anniversary July 6, 2025 with a bell ringing ceremony. Pastor Frank Taylor dedicated the bell to the CME organization, the Hudsonville community, the ancestors and forefathers of the Grays Chapel Church, the military soldiers buried in the cemetery from the Civil War to Vietnam, the veterans of Grays Chapel and finally to the current and active members of Grays Chapel CME Church. We concluded the dedication by tolling the bell 156 times to recognize our 156 years in service to God and the Hudsonville community.

We will begin at noon with our bell ringing. We will ring our church bell 156 times to celebrate our 156 years in service to God and the Hudsonville community.

The Grays Chapel Church family will have a special event June 29 2025 starting at 10 am.

We are having VBS (Vacation Bible School) for all age groups. Come out and join us to learn more about Jesus! We will share the Bible with different activities and speakers.

And following VBS, we will have a foot washing ceremony! Yes, a foot washing ceremony! Come and learn about Jesus washing the feet of His disciplines.

This is all in preparation of getting our minds, bodies and souls ready for our 156th Homecoming Services the first Sunday in July 6th! We are installing a church bell and we will ring it 156 times to honor our 156th Church Anniversary!

This tombstone is in the cemetery at my church, Grays Chapel CME Church, Hudsonville, Mississippi. There are 7 or 8 more graves around her with no markers. Can anyone help identify the other gravesites?

Good morning Grays Chapel I pray that we realize it is because of God’s blessings we are sharing this opportunity of life. Let us be grateful enough to give Him the praise. It seems that we were guided in the right direction, pertaining to the social distances in regards to COVID 19. But we must remain faithful and true to God's word, His will and His way. For He is our shield of protection in all we choose to do in this life. So continue to hold to His unchanging hand. Pray for me, as well as the world in which we live,and the Lord will see us safely through it all. We must be patient and wait until He comes, He will have a crown in His hand, so hold on and don’t let go no matter the situation. Yours in Christ . Rev. Dr.J. W. Johnson.

Lesson: Facing Adversity
Definition: Adversity is a fact of life-trials, tests, tribulations, temptations, weakness, failure and opposition.
It's not if we will face adversity, it's when we will face adversity!

There are several attitudes to defeat adversity.
1. Prayer-Always face adversity with an attitude of humble believing prayer. All our victories begin with prayer, communion with our Heavenly Father. (James 5:16, Philippians 4:6
2. Patience-An attitude of patience will equip you to deal with disappointment, delay and discouragement. (Psalms 27:14, James 1:2)
