Several people recently were surprised to hear that Hollister Baptist Church is still an English speaking church.
1. Hollister Baptist will soon celebrate its 75th anniversary. Our auditorium is the building with the steeple on top. Our 10 foot by 4 foot lighted sign is in English.
2. The membership of Hollister Baptist Church is predominantly an English speaking church. To be fair, we do have some people from West Virginia and we have some from New York and we even have a few that still put a second “R” in Interlachen, but yes, we are an English speaking church.
3. Three years ago we started a Spanish church on our property. They meet in the building marked “C” and their main entrance is between buildings “B” and “C” at the end of the sidewalk. Their Pastor is Pastor Silas who lives in Lakeland and travels weekly with his family of six to hold services on Sunday Morning in Spanish. Their 2x4 sign is located near the HWY 20 intersection and has an arrow pointing and guiding to the Spanish entrance.
4. Whether you speak English or Spanish you are welcome to visit us at 107 Hollister Church Rd. If you are English speaking, you will be greeted with a “good morning” or “howdy”. If you are Spanish, then you will be greeted with a “hola” or “buenos dias”!
