As the stakes rise, the drive behind that pursuit intensifies. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but what if pursuing those things ultimately isn’t healthy or good for us in the long run? Join us this year as we dive into pursuing the things of God.

We are THRILLED to announce our new Lakeshore FCA Regional Ministry Advancement Coordinator, Scott Staal.

Scott currently serves as the Ministry Advancement Coordinator for the Great Lakes Region (IN, MI, OH, WV). Focused on reaching coaches and athletes, Scott works to grow FCA’s discipleship model by consulting staff and developing region-wide programs and initiatives. He celebrated four years on staff with FCA this past summer, in which he predominantly worked as the Multi-Area Director for Northern Indiana. A native of West Michigan, Scott graduated from Grand Haven High School and continued his education and football career by playing quarterback for Valparaiso University (Valparaiso, IN). In addition to his Ministry Advancement Coordinator role, Scott will also serve as the Lakeshore Director for the Michigan FCA team.

From Scott: “When I first got involved in FCA as an athlete at Grand Haven High School, I didn’t realize that was the beginning of an incredible journey with this ministry. As I return home, I am fired up for the ways God is positioning FCA to reach more coaches and athletes in the Lakeshore and the Great Lakes Region!”

Life seems so surreal after 7 weeks of different! We are already upon our final (Virtual) Lakeshore FCA Morning Huddle of the academic year on Wednesday, May 13 at 10:00 AM. Zoom number and instructions are available through contacting Michigan FCA at [email protected]. We will have an awesome program featuring guest speakers Brennen and Nicky Beyer. Brennen is a former University of Michigan football standout who played in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens and his wife, Nicky, was a soccer star at U of M. They are just returning from an incredible mission trip to East Asia with Athletes in Action. This powerhouse couple will be a great blessing to our faith and understanding of our great God - join us Wednesday morning!

Can't keep away from our monthly Morning Huddle! Yesterday we were blessed by the candor and inspiration of Shandy Longcore (of Embracing Imperfections). Her fascinating story touched each person who joined us - our largest huddle meeting for that group yet - and filled us with the Hope of Christ.
