The Holland Presbyterian Church hosted its annual Vacation Bible School. This year was another huge success with almost 65 kids attending May 31-June 4. Kids spent time learning about Jesus with this year’s theme Rainforest Falls. During Rainforest Falls VBS, children explored what it means to be firmly rooted in a relationship with God-their Creator, refuge, and source of strength through life’s storms. The kids rotate through a variety of stations including Rooted Bible Adventures where the day’s bible story is acted out with props and costumes to really bring the Bible story to life for each child. The kids memorize Bible verses in Sticky Scriptures which helps kids apply Bible verses and Jesus’ teachings to real life situations they may encounter in their lives. It’s a way to help the words in the Bible stick…to their hearts, minds, and lives. Crafts, outdoor rec games, snacks, and lots of singing round out each day. The week ends with a VBS program on the last day in the evening where all the kids get to show off what they’ve learned to their family and friends. This is a week that is looked forward to all year and those on the VBS planning committee appreciate and thank all those that not only attended VBS, but the volunteers who made it possible. Until next year!
