SSYI programs:
Amore N’ More
A clothing ministry open to the public. Adult & children’s clothing and household goods are available free of charge to families in need. We are partners with local organizations such as Harbor House and Community Action House. Sara says, “when I arrived at Harbor House, I just had a bag of clothes and now because of Amor' More and the opportunity to get some things, she games some confidence and hope”. Summer Fun For Kids (SF4K)
Each summer SSYI sponsors a summer recreation and learning activities for the children of the Holland community. SF4K is a 10-week program for 4 and up children to enjoy a free lunch, bible lessons, games, crafts, and field trips. This day camp is from Monday through Thursday 11-2:00 PM. We provide a safe supervised fun-filled curriculum. In partnership with Holland Public schools’ lunch program every child will receive a free lunch while they are here. Staff members work along with trained volunteers to coordinate crafts, recreation, and Bible teachings.
10 weeks long (June to middle August)
SF4K will resume in 2022. Prep
A weekly youth group for teenagers to learn healthy life skills, developing leadership skills, relationships within the group and provide opportunities for service and receive a free meal. Our Prep program is free of charge and open to ages 11-17 years. This program prepares for what lies ahead. Prep provides a wonderful opportunity for students to build a relationship with God, peer support and self-worth. We meet all year long every Tuesday evening 5:30-7:30 PM. Prep attendees Salisha and Marly said “This is the best day of the week”. The sisters are always excited to connect with their peers and learn stories from God. Also, Adrian Gonzales loves to invite friends from his school to Prep. School’s Out Party June 21st 2021
Community event that kicks off the summer program(SF4K), it is a great opportunity to connect with the families of the south of Holland. This event includes food, games and distractions for the children, plus offer the opportunity to register for the summer program. Our Community Playground was built in 2002 providing a safe place for children in the neighborhood to play, give teens the opportunity to rest and learn the skills at camp, bring families together for a talent show, picnic and activities for the School’s out Party, enrich hungry children with healthy snacks and field trip transportation during Summer Fun 4 Kids and ensure teens in the Holland area continue to have a safe place to go for emotional and spiritual support at Prep.
