The Holland Community Choir was born in a high school Sunday school room at the Holland United Methodist Church early in 2000. As high school students, we were getting a little bored with the usual Sunday school productions. The majority of the class were musicians and decided we wanted to put on our own production. We soon found that we could not put on any kind of production with our numbers and

asked the adult choir, as well as some friends from other churches, to join us. The first production of “Alpha and Omega” consisted of a choir of 15 people from three churches. After that first production, the director approached me and asked if we could do it again the next year. I approached my former high school choir director, Mrs. Marie Perini, and asked her to direct. After some prayer she agreed and has been directing the choir ever since. Today the choir has approximately 50 members, including a children’s choir and other small ensembles and represents around 20 congregations. Catholic and Protestant, traditional and contemporary styles, young and old are all represented. The Holland Community Choir is just one example of what the Church is meant to be. Regardless of doctrinal beliefs the members support each other, pray with and for each other, and worship together, all in an effort to bring the Word of God to our area. We invite you to join us on Sunday evenings at the Hope On The Hill Church, on Savage Road, at 6:30. For more information leave us a message here!
