Today marks the 53rd anniversary of the Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision (January 22, 1973). It ushered in a new era in the United States – that of abortion on demand and it engrained into far too many American minds the Hitleresque notion that there is such a thing as a life not worth protecting. And while we celebrate that the decision was essentially vacated by our current (conservative leaning) Supreme Court in their 2022 decision Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization - removing national sanction of this horrendous sin, far too many states still support and sanction abortion on demand. Six states in our blessed Union allow abortion to occur in all nine months of the baby’s life.
Ronald Reagan, the only sitting President to write a book while he was in office attacked this moral evil with his book: Abortion and the Conscience of a Nation. The National conscience will always be stained until every baby is protected by laws in every state. Until every voice that advocates for the intentional killing of a developing baby is shamed into silence, America will never be healed. Would you pause and pray a few moments this day for this sin to be totally eradicated from our country?

There is no way 2026 can be considered successful no matter what you accomplish this year if you fail to be fruitful in your spiritual life. I read the great Psalm 8 today on the 8th of March (along with 38, 68, 98, 128). I’d encourage you to take a few moments and fill your mind with these great truths of God‘s word. Our Lord’s name is truly MAJESTIC.

I also had a flashback to the days of my youth and hunted up this song that corresponds to Psalm 8. Give it a listen.

While we appreciate so many of President Trump's decisions, cabinet appointments and commitments, his new appointee--Pastor Paula White Cain--to the newly created White House Faith Office was more than disappointing. It is a horrible decision. She is a false teacher, embracing heretical beliefs and proclaiming non-Biblical theology. She is not qualified to preach in a pulpit, much less head up the President's Faith Office. It serves to remind us of our President's fallibility and his spiritual immaturity. Only Jesus walked on water.

Another side effect of Amendment 3 if approved — taxpayer dollars will head to abortion providers. Planned Parenthood already profits millions and millions of dollars through their abortions and manipulation of vulnerable woman, especially younger women. But why should Cristians and others with conscientious objections on abortion be forced to pay for a procedure they find immoral, unbiblical or repulsive? They will if Amendment 3 is approved.

If approved, Amendment 3 would wipe nearly 30 pro-life laws off the books - most of which are common sense protections for women, families and pre-born babies.

One of the Missouri laws slated for nullification requires parental notification for minors getting an abortion. Yes, that's right. If Amendment 3 passes, minors will still need parental consent to get a piercing or tattoo, but not for an abortion. Something is VERY wrong with that!

Tomorrow Pastor Rod starts a short sermon series on the book of Jude. It’s the next to last book in the New Testament and it’s only 25 verses long. it’s a brief but powerful message from God to churches that have to stand against biblical error and sinful living from those who call themselves Christians. The focal phrase tomorrow is “earnestly contend for the faith”. So there’s something a lot more important than your comfort or your acceptance from others. It is the gospel. Our faith. Join us as we draw near to the eternal God, hear His Word and delight in His presence.
