Hebrews 11:1, 3 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

Jude 1:20-21 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Jesus calls on us today to answer the question, "Who do you say that I am?" He wants to know what his followers and disciples think of Him today. He demands a decision, accept Him or reject Him. He demands a clear answer that does not have to be certain. Jesus is outside the morals of neat religious minds. He is free, and we are truly free only when we allow Jesus to be free. Cage Jesus and we imprison ourselves. Categorize Jesus and we find ourselves in another hole, another religious clone. We must have a relationship with Him, a loving, spiritual relationship. Maybe the image in our churches should not be an immoveable Jesus on a statue or a cross or a stained-glass window. The best image for the church should be the empty tomb with the inscription, "Christ is not here. Christ has gone before you".

The world didn't end with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, a new revolution started and took the whole world by storm on the resurrection!

Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

A pastor transformed himself into a homeless person and went to the church that he was to be introduced as the head pastor at that morning. He walked around his soon to be church for 30 minutes while it was filling with people for service. Only 3 people said hello to him, most looked the other way. He asked people for change to buy food because he was hungry. Not one gave him anything.

He went into the sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was told by the ushers that he would need to get up and go sit n the back of the church. He said hello to people as they walked in but was greeted with cold stares and dirty looks from people looking down on him and judging him.

He sat in the back of the church and listened to the church announcements for the week. He listened as new visitors were welcomed into the church that morning but no one acknowledged that he was new. He watched people around him continue to look his way with stares that said you are not welcome here.

Then the elders of the church went to the podium to make the announcement. They said they were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation. "We would like to introduce you to our new Pastor." The congregation stood up and looked around clapping with joy and anticipation. The homeless man sitting in the back stood up and started walking down the aisle.

That's when all the clapping stopped and the church was silent. With all eyes on him....he walked up the altar and reached for the microphone. He stood there for a moment and then recited so elegantly, a verse from the bible.....

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for the least of my brothers and sisters, you did for me.’

After he recited this, he introduced himself as their new pastor and told the congregation what he had experienced that morning. Many began to cry and bow their heads in shame. "Today I see a gathering of people here but I do not see a church of Jesus. The world has enough people that look the other way. What the world needs is disciples of Jesus that can follow this teachings and live as he did. When will YOU decide to become disciples?

He then dismissed service until the following Sunday as his sermon had been given.

Since the beginning of time, angels have delivered God's messages to mankind. Sometimes the messages are warnings of impending danger, sometimes instructions as to what to do in a particular situation, sometimes they are simply "there" as protection from enemy forces. Sometimes they bring joyful announcements as in the day they announced the birth of Jesus.

I am often asked by skeptics, Why do we need angels? In truth, I don't know. God can deal with us in any way that pleases Him to do so. He can speak with us directly, in a burning bush, in dreams, visions and specifically through the Scriptures. Yet, He also employs angels. The Scripture says angels were created for his pleasure. Perhaps it is as simple as that -- it pleases God to send His angels to minister to his children.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

1 Peter 1:8-9 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Psalm 5:3, 8, 11 In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. Lead me, LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies— But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

I have always loved this psalm. It is a clear example of how our day should begin. Have you ever begun your day with a cheerful “Good morning” to the Lord? Somehow it gives the day a different flavor. David prayed with full expectation and hope that God, in his mercy and love, would hear his prayers and respond with the help and guidance David needed in his early life. He went through the events of each day knowing God was in charge, that he was his protection and shelter always.

Our lives embrace far different concerns and problems than David faced. But we are no less dependent on God’s guidance throughout each day. We need the peace that transcends understanding which only comes through prayer to discern the voice of God amidst all the demands on our time

Philippians 4:6-8 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Imagine... a world where we each asked "How can I help you?"
Imagine... a world where we each asked "How can I support you?"
Imagine... a world where we each asked "How can I show you how loved you are?"
Imagine... a world where we each asked "How can I show you acceptance? Compassion? Understanding?"
Imagine... a world where we each asked "How can I help you see the qualities you possess, that you cant see?"
Imagine... a world like that?
A world where we lifted each other up
Encouraged each other
Loved on each other
Saw the best (and pointed in out) in each other
Wow what a world it would be!
Be who God created you to be, in your uniqueness, in your beauty, in your purpose and with your heart! Be you, and HELP someone else each and every day to be them...
just imagine!
