Wilmington Community Evangelical Church The purpose of WCEC is to draw closer to God and each other. We meet at 9:30 a.m. in the upstairs Chapel, followed by Sunday School for all ages!

We do this through our values of being a curious church, a optimistic church, and a harmonious church. Nestled in an upper-middle class suburban community in the northern tip of Delaware is an English speaking congregation within a church founded by Chinese immigrants. Over the decades, slow but steady progress grew this congregation into not just middle and high schoolers but also a college group

and a band of adult believers and seekers. Even though this is an English speaking congregation, all age groups in the English ministry encompass first, second, and third generation Chinese immigrants as well as some non-Asian Americans. Cross-cultural couples also make up an important ministry focus. For children, the church runs a vibrant worship, choir, and Sunday school program and hosts an AWANA club on Friday nights. Founded in 1981, Wilmington Community Evangelical Church (WCEC) is a bi-cultural and bilingual (Mandarin Chinese and English) church committed to building up the kingdom of God among the Chinese-Americans and their associates in northern Delaware and the surrounding Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Average Sunday attendance of the combined Mandarin and English church is around 360 of which 70-80 people attend the English Sunday service. A typical English Sunday service includes youth, parents of the youth, college students, young professionals, and adults. The church currently has a Mandarin ministry pastor, a children’s ministry staff, and a youth director.

This Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the West Wing Chapel, Pastor Doug Perkins will be bringing a message titled PRINCE OF EGYPT: Palm Sunday Edition, based on passages from Matthew 21 and Hebrews 11. In addition to being live, the service will be broadcast online on YouTube at the link below.
