Hey Hoboken Church! ☀️

As the temperatures continue to rise, here’s a friendly reminder to stay hydrated during this warm weather. Whether you’re heading to work, spending time outdoors, serving at church, or enjoying time with friends and family, don’t forget to drink plenty of water and take care of yourself.

What is grace?

Grace is receiving something we don’t deserve. It’s the kindness, mercy, and love that God freely gives us—not because we’ve earned it, but because of who He is.

How do we show grace?

We show grace when we choose patience over frustration, forgiveness over bitterness, and understanding over judgment. We show grace when we give people room to grow, love others despite their flaws, and remember that we, too, are recipients of God’s grace every day.
The world says people get what they deserve. Grace says people can receive love, compassion, and a second chance.

As followers of Jesus, we’re called not only to receive grace but to extend it. Who in your life needs to experience grace from you today?

What is a legacy?

The world tells us that a legacy is about what you accomplish, how much you achieve, how many people know your name, or what you leave behind for others to remember. It’s built on success, status, influence, and recognition.

But a legacy with Christ looks different.
A legacy with Christ isn’t about making your name known—it’s about making His name known. It’s not measured by titles, followers, or achievements, but by faithfulness, obedience, and the lives impacted by the love of Jesus.
The world’s legacy fades with time. Buildings crumble, achievements are forgotten, and names eventually disappear. But a legacy rooted in Christ has eternal impact.

It’s easy to compare our role with someone else’s and wonder if what we do really matters. But in God’s Kingdom, value isn’t determined by visibility. Just because your service happens behind the scenes doesn’t make it any less important.

Every act of service, every prayer, every conversation, every unseen sacrifice matters to God. The body of Christ functions best when each person faithfully plays their part, whether it’s on a stage or behind the scenes.

On Sundays, we gather as one body—not to compete, compare, or measure our worth against one another, but to worship together and serve one another. We each have a role, and every role has value because every role points back to Jesus.

You are needed. You are valued. And what you do matters in God’s Kingdom 🤍

What would change if we slowed down long enough to really think about who we’ve been moving away from or avoiding?

Maybe the people we’ve judged too quickly.
Maybe the conversations we’ve already made assumptions about.

Maybe the people we’ve listened to the least.
The culture of the world tells us to protect our comfort, stay in our circles, and make quick judgments. But the culture of the cross always moves toward people.

Jesus listened before labeling. He moved toward the overlooked, the misunderstood, and the broken. Maybe we’re called to do the same.
Before assuming, listen.
Before judging, ask questions.
Before distancing yourself, move closer with compassion.

What are you doing if you’re not in a men’s or women’s group yet!

There’s a place for you here 😊 A community to do life with, grow in faith with, and struggle well together through every season of life. You were never meant to walk alone. Come be part of what God is building through community.

What does the world tell us?

To prove yourself. To achieve more, do more, be more — and from there, it will decide where you belong and if you’re worthy enough. But living that way becomes exhausting. Constantly striving for approval and carrying the pressure to measure up.

Jesus offers something different. Because of His grace, we don’t have to perform to earn love, acceptance, or belonging. Our worth isn’t based on what we achieve, but on who He says we are. The cross already proved our value. In Him, we are fully loved, fully known, and fully accepted.
