For the past two years, Street Life Ministry has been in Paterson every week, working in partnership with the Paterson Police Department, Paterson Fire Department, and Paterson EMT during street outreach efforts throughout the city.
Three days a week, our team goes into areas most people never see — including streets, abandoned buildings, shelters, and locations where individuals are struggling with homelessness, the disease of addiction, mental health challenges, and extreme hardship.
This work would not be possible without the cooperation, professionalism, and compassion of our partners in Paterson who understand that outreach requires patience, respect, and a willingness to meet people where they are.
One thing we are reminded of during every outreach:
The disease of addiction has no face.
It affects every race, every age, every neighborhood, and every family.
Because of the continued support of the Paterson Police Department, Paterson Fire Department, and Paterson EMT, we are able to reach individuals who might otherwise be forgotten, and connect them with food, support, resources, and pathways to recovery.
We thank the officers, firefighters, and EMTs who stand with us in the streets and treat every person with dignity and humanity.
Together, we continue to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
