Jesus’ letter to Ephesus reminds us that it’s possible to look spiritually healthy on the outside while growing cold on the inside.

They had good works, endurance, and sound doctrine — but they had left their first love.

So this week, ask yourself: What is compelling me?

Jesus gives us the way back:

Remember.
Repent.
Return.

It’s possible to look faithful on the outside while growing cold on the inside.

In Jesus’ letter to the church in Ephesus, He warns a church that had the right doctrine, the right endurance, and the right activity — but had abandoned their first love.

That warning is for us too.

Jesus is not calling us to polished religion. He is calling us back to Himself.

Remember. Repent. Return.

And the letter doesn’t end with condemnation, but with promise: to the one who overcomes, He gives life with Him forever.

Lord, keep us from going through the motions. Bring us back to our first love.

Jesus doesn’t stand far off from His church.

In Revelation 1, John sees Jesus standing among the lampstands — among His churches. He sees them clearly. He knows where they are faithful, where they are compromised, where they are weak, and where their fire is growing dim.

And because He loves His church, He tends the flame.

As we begin our summer series through the letters to the seven churches in Revelation, we’re asking the Lord to give us ears to hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Lord, keep our fire burning.

Guilt doesn’t get the final word.

Jesus tells John He’s alive forever—and that changes what fear can do in your heart.

• When you’ve sinned, remember the cross
• Jesus took your punishment—so you don’t have to carry it
• His resurrection means new life, not just forgiveness
• Conviction from the Spirit can still lead to comfort

Your parents’ worst moments don’t have to become your identity.

Abraham’s life was full of failure—yet Isaac grew up learning from correction, not collapsing under it.

• Isaac knew the details of the sin.
• He didn’t rebel against God because of his dad.
• He observed genuine repentance.
• Legacy is built through response, not perfection.

Where do you need to shift from “inherited wounds” to “learned wisdom”?

05/12/2026

If it doesn’t line up with Scripture, it’s not God.

Learning to hear God’s voice starts with learning God’s Word.

• Filter every message through God’s Word
• God’s voice won’t contradict His Word
• Trust God’s heart → obey His commands
• Your legacy is kids who trust and obey for themselves

This Sunday, we’re beginning a new sermon series: Open Letter to the Church.

In Revelation 2–3, Jesus speaks directly to seven churches—encouraging, correcting, warning, and calling them back to faithfulness. And as we study these letters together, we’ll see that what Jesus said to them still speaks clearly to us today.

Join us this Sunday as we begin Open Letter to the Church.

Sundays at 9 & 11 AM
Bring your Bible, invite a friend, and come ready to hear what Jesus is saying to His church.

A legacy that lasts isn’t built on perfection.

That’s good news, because none of us are building from a flawless story.

Abraham’s life was marked by real faith, but also real failure. And yet, failure wasn’t the final word over his life.

God shaped his legacy through repentance, trust, worship, and faith.

The same grace is available to us.

We don’t leave a legacy that matters by pretending we never fail.
We leave one by turning back to God when we do.
