One week from today, we’re kicking off a full weekend together, and there’s something planned for just about everyone. From men gathering around ribeye steaks on Friday, to our students on Saturday, to worship together on Sunday, Fan the Flame Weekend is an opportunity to set aside some time and refocus our hearts on Christ.🔥

Paul encouraged Timothy to “fan into flame the gift of God” in 2 Timothy 1:6. That same encouragement is worth taking seriously today, and we’re looking forward to hearing from guest speaker Jamey Ragle throughout the weekend. Invite someone to come with you and make plans to be part of it.🙌🏼

➡️ Friday, September 11 at 6 PM: Fire, Steaks, & Men (registration required)
➡️ Saturday, September 12 at 6 PM: Catching Fire Youth Gathering, grades 6 through 12
➡️ Sunday, September 13 at 9 AM & 11:15 AM: Fan the Flame Worship
➡️ Sunday, September 13 at 6 PM: Let the Fire Fall Celebration

When everybody around you starts treating sin casually, fearing God will make you look different. That is exactly what happened with Noah. While an entire generation lived as though God’s judgment would never come, Noah believed what God had spoken and ordered his life accordingly.

Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” A proper fear of God recognizes His holiness, takes His judgment seriously, and produces obedience to His Word. When you understand who God actually is, you stop measuring faithfulness by what everyone else is comfortable doing.

The faithful may be few, but God knows those who fear His name. Live like His Word is true, because it is.🙏🏼

Hard seasons have a way of narrowing our vision until the circumstances in front of us feel larger than everything else we know. Scripture continually calls us to remember. David faced Goliath with confidence rooted in the God who had already proven faithful, and the Psalms repeatedly turn troubled hearts toward what is eternally true about Him. Your circumstances are part of your story, but God's character is the foundation beneath it. He remains worthy of your trust today, and remembering who He is gives your heart somewhere solid to stand.💛

One day, every one of us will stand before God, and there are only two outcomes. Either we receive what our sin deserves, or by faith we receive what Jesus won on our behalf.🙏🏼

That is the beauty of the Gospel: Christ took the judgment of His people upon Himself and gives them His righteousness. Romans 6:23 says, “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The question is not whether a harvest is coming. The question is whose reward will you receive: the wages of your sin or the inheritance Christ secured for His people?🤔

What does your worship look like on Tuesday morning when there is no music playing?

Jesus said that true worshipers worship the Father “in spirit and truth” in John 4:23. That reaches into the ordinary places of life, including the way you speak, the decisions you make, the people you serve, and the priorities that shape your days. Sunday worship matters deeply, and it prepares us for a life that continually points back to Christ. May the worship we offer together become the worship we carry with us everywhere we go.💙

📖 "God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” - John 4:24

Here is a heart check worth making: would you still worship God if he never blessed you?

Serve, give, and worship simply because He is worthy. When God Himself is your treasure, you can trust Him with whatever comes next.🙏🏼

📖"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." - Matthew 6:33
