Keep in Step with the Spirit
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Gal 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Gal 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

The Bible was translated from Greek to English. Not all words mean the same. Here is an example. If you'd like to learn more, please give us a call.
Understanding Greek Words.
Three of the significant Greek words translated as " mind” in the King James version are psuche, nous, and phronema. Psuche means “soul life,” as differentiated from the physical body and the spirit (pneuma). Our soul life is our breath life. The nous is the organ of mental perception, which receives information either from the five senses or from the gift of the holy spirit in us. The nous is the part of man which collects data and, through a reasoning process, makes decisions. It is the reasoning part of the mind. The word phoronema refers to useful thoughts, feelings, and desires of the mind (nous). In Hebrews 12:3, the word translated “minds” is psuche. It is more correctly understood as soul, life, or entire being.
Hebrews 12:3 For consider him (Jesus) that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest he be wearied and faint in their minds (psuche).

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

I meet a older lady about a week ago who said to me, "The Bible says we should not eat pork or meat." I asked her what scripture she was referring to. She said a friend told her that!

Folks, Christ freed us from the law. Those who want to keep referring to the Old Testament must understand that. Paul said that it is there for our learning. This Old Testament was not written to the born-again, the Church of Christ but to Israel.

God is Light
God is light and in Him is no Darkness at all.

Too many times, people think God causes bad things to happen in our lives to test us. Well, we’ve got freedom of will, and we’ve got an adversary that wants to hinder us from receiving God’s goodness. So, today, we will make it crystal clear that God is light and light dispels darkness

I John 1:5 “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all”

God is light – there is no darkness. Even the smallest candle, when lit in the darkest corner, can push the darkness out. God is light, and His word is light. His Word makes things crystal clear so that you don’t question or doubt what’s going on.

III John 2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers.”

God does not make you sick – He wants you to be prosperous and healthy. Where did we get off thinking He makes us sick?

Some say He makes us sick to test us.

To see how we will respond. Well, God knows all. Why would he need to do that?

Would you want your son or daughter sick to find out what they would do?

You wouldn’t want your child sick, what about God Almighty?

James 1:13. 14 “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither temps he any man:

Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed” – God gave freedom of will. It’s your choice which way you go when you are tempted.

God does not tempt.

That also includes testing you. If God were testing you He would be tempting you.

It’s a lie.

It’s trying to lay the blame on God when something bad happens to you.

The devil is the author of the bad that happens .

The devil likes you thinking that God is behind your troubles. But, God is light and in Him no darkness at all.

You see, God is love. He wanted for others to experience this love. You can’t program someone to love.

The only way He could bring people to be able to love with the Love of God was by granting them freedom of will.

Hebrews 2:14 “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.

So often when people die people say, “Well, God took him.”

God loves so big that he kills you.

If I took someone’s life that would be murder.

God’s word has penalties for murder.

So why in the world would you think that he kills people.

The devil has the power of death. Let’s put the blame where it belongs.

Proverbs 4;20-22 “My son, attend to my words; incline your ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

You, by your freedom of will, decide to walk according to God’s Word and you will be blessed. You will have health. God’s Word guarantees it.

If you want more health find someone who can teach you the greatness of God’s Word and live it.

Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”

That’s our God.

He doesn’t give sickness and death. He blesses us with all spiritual blessings.

God is light. He wants us to see clearly what’s going on around us.

He wants us to have the power to overcome situations that the adversary may confront us with.

He wants us to live in victory not defeat.

So when you hear people blaming God for sickness and death very politely remind them that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

We have freedom of will and we choose the path we take.

God will not intervene when it comes to your freedom of will. So, choose a path of righteousness by pursuing the light of His Word. That word will light you up with His light and His goodness.
