But wait! There's more! - Today is Trinity Sunday and Father's Day and we see in today's text how Jesus enabled the disciples to trust that the Holy Spirit would always help them to know what to do next. Thus they could step into a life of serving knowing that they would be reliably guided every step of the way.

What does this mean? - Today is Pentecost Sunday and we join to celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit. We read from Acts 2:1-21 where we find the Holy Spirit is not just a gift to be held and cherished, but a gift from God who desires that we accomplish the task of bringing everyone into connection with God.

The Promise - Today is the 6th Sunday of Easter, and Jesus is talking with the disciples. Having learned that Jesus is leaving them, they wonder what they will do next. Yes, Jesus has shared their mission, but some things are easier said than done. Thankfully, Jesus has a gift, the Holy Spirit, who will enable them to carry out their work as disciples.

Love as Jesus loves - We read today from John 13:31-35. Jesus is sharing that loving others requires setting our agendas aside to help others experience God's great love. The central focus is on how we give ourselves to the task of being God's presence. We remember that it is not about us.

Happy Mother's Day! - It is the 4th Sunday of Easter and we read from the Gospel of John 10:22-30 where we find Jesus sharing with the ruling powers that he is more than the Messiah. He is, in fact, one with God.

"That we might have life" - Today is the second Sunday of Easter and our reading brings us into the room with disciples who are hiding for fear of the religious authorities. Jesus comes into their midst and completes the task of establishing the new church of believers in his name. As we journey, we find that Jesus' message of love is the only way to conquer sin in our lives.

It is Easter Sunday! We read from John's Gospel and hear Jesus tell Mary Magdalene to Go and Tell the disciples that he will be ascending to his Father, to God. Funny thing is that two of the disciples were just here and he didn't tell them himself. Hmm.

Only our Best - Today is the 5th Sunday in Lent and we read from John 12:1-8. Jesus and his disciples are gathered with Mary, Martha, and Lazarus for a dinner before Passover. Through their efforts and the irritation offered through the person of Judas Iscariot we learn the lesson to always do our best and to keep from making anything that serves ourselves.
