"Lord, give me wisdom in the moments that test my patience. Help me correct without tearing down, be firm without being harsh, and remember that little hearts are learning from the way I handle the hard moments too." Amen.

Some days, I catch myself focusing so much on getting my children to listen that I forget what I’m really trying to teach them.

Lord, give me wisdom in the moments that test my patience. Help me correct without tearing down, be firm without being harsh, and remember that little hearts are learning from the way I handle the hard moments too.

Teach me to care about more than obedience in the moment. Help me raise children who learn honesty, kindness, responsibility, and grace, not simply because they were told to, but because those things have taken root in their hearts.

And when I get it wrong, give me the humility to make it right. 🙏🏼🤍

Happy Labor Day!

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. (Colossians 3:23)

"Whatever task you must do, work as if your soul depends on it, as for the Lord and not for humans, since you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you serve the Lord Christ." -Colossians 3:23-24

Today in the United States 🇺🇸 we celebrate Labor Day and honor the work we do for our families, churches and communities. As we take a day to rest, reflect on the work the Lord has called you to. May we keep Christ at the center of all that we do. ✝️

Have a Blessed Labor Day!🙏🙂

I’ve been thinking a LOT lately about how easy it is to talk ourselves out of mentioning Jesus…😩

What if they’re offended?

What if they don’t agree?

What if I don’t know how to answer their questions?

What if I make the conversation awkward?

👉 But WHAT IF the person in front of us is more open than we realize?

We have no idea what God may already be doing in someone’s heart before we ever enter the conversation…

And we don’t need to have every theological answer or turn every conversation into a sermon.

We can simply be willing when the opportunity comes.

I don’t want to talk about Jesus because I’m trying to win an argument.🚫

I don’t want to pressure anyone.🚫

And I certainly don’t want to treat someone like a project.🚫

I just want to talk about Jesus because He is genuinely worth knowing.🥹

I can listen.

I can be gentle.

I can respect someone’s response.

I can continue loving them whether they agree with me or not.

👉 But I also don’t want fear of someone’s reaction to automatically become silence when God has given me an opportunity to speak.

Maybe our prayer shouldn’t only be:

“God, give me opportunities to tell people about You.”

Maybe it should also be:

“God, help me recognize the opportunities You’re already giving me and give me the courage not to talk myself out of them.”

Urgency without love can lose sight of the person in front of us.

But love without ever being willing to speak can become silence.

Lord, help us carry both love AND courage.🙏🤎✝️

The sermon may still be fresh in your mind…

Maybe something stood out.

Maybe a verse hit differently.

Maybe there was a moment when you thought: “Lord, I needed to hear that.”

Before the busyness of another week begins, maybe there’s another question worth asking:

⚠️ What am I going to do with what I heard?

👉 Is there something God convicted me about?

👉 Something I need to surrender?

👉 An apology I need to make?

👉 A conversation I’ve been avoiding?

👉 Something Scripture showed me that I know needs to look different in my life?

Because if I’m not careful, I can leave church encouraged, think about the message for a day or two…

and by next Sunday, be ready for another sermon without ever responding to the last one.👀

There’s nothing wrong with being eager to learn more. We should be!

‼️ But sometimes we don’t need another page of notes nearly as much as we need to put into practice what God has already shown us.

James 1:22 reminds us not to merely listen to the Word, but to do what it says.📖

So before today’s message becomes next Sunday’s forgotten notes:

Don’t just remember what you heard.
Ask God to help you live it. 🤎✝️

I’d love to hear from you! Did anything stand out in your sermon today that you felt God was speaking to you about?💭
